    Finally another slow reader! I'm doing my first reading journal this year and all the other reading journal videos expect to read hundreds of books...as a teen that would have been fine with me but now..well I read half a book total last year, but now after watching this I feel so much better about my goal of 12 for the whole year! I'm so glad I'm not alone in this, the spreads came out beautifully, good luck on your reading journey!

      I know! I was intimidated at first as well because everyone that had a reading journal literally had a goal of 100-200 books. So not realistic for me and I am sure for so many others. I am glad you feel better about your goal, 12 books is a lot of books!
      Thank you so much for watching and so happy to have inspired you. Good luck on your reading journey as well ☺️✨

    It’s so nice to see a “slow reader” book journal! Starting my first book journal and I can relate with the working mom life - trying to find time to read 😊

      So glad it is inspiring other “slow readers” to document or just know we don’t have to read 100+ books a year to be a reader!

      Yesss girl!!! I am also on book 3!! Had a gamble at an audiobook this month for the first time and it was great to listen to back and forth to work!!
      Loving this reading thing!! 😊😊✨

    Finally found someone who is a slow reader too! hahahaha I started my reading journal journey this year. And, since I started to work and study all day, reading as a hobby became slower over the years. It was soo cool find someone which has the same reading time as me 😆😁. PS: I love all the green aesthetics 🥰

    • @LindselleCreates

      Yay! It’s nice to know we are not alone and there is some content out there that doesn’t expect us to read hundreds of books in a year, or even read double digits in a month. Not possible for me lol!
      Thank you! Green has a special place in my heart - but purple still wins 🤣✨

    I really enjoyed this vid. I finished my first book journal this weekend. You have a good eye… yours is lovely. My yearly target is 23 for2023. I read 4 last year and listened to 4 audiobooks. I saw the BINGO idea so I have tried this. Hopefully encourage me to broaden my reading pool… not just what’s on my shelf. I wish you luck we can be each others pacing partner lol

    • @LindselleCreates

      I also did a bingo page after I recorded this video for the same purpose, to broaden my reading genres!
      8 total books last year is great! I read/listened to my first audiobook this year and really enjoyed it during my commute to work. Definitely will continue to do that!
      Thank you for watching!! 🥰✨💜 I too wish you luck on your 2023 reading journey 😌

    I also started a reading journal this year. I always used to read a lot, but over the past few years it has slowly become less and less. So far this year, I've read 20 books which is a lot compared to previous years, but still less than in the past. I found that having a reading journal helped motivate me to read more.

    • @LindselleCreates
      @LindselleCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree, it has motivated me to read more as well!!
      I also have read 22 books so far this year which is A LOT for me. I read only 2 in 2020, 0 in 2021 and then 17 in 2022 😊

    Love the positivity about reading at your own pace 💓 Also I am a fellow maximalist and I enjoy your aesthetic a lot! Cheers, looking forward to your vision board!

      Thank you so much!!! A lot of people on booktok and booktube ready tons of books, and I just don’t want everyone to compare themselves to them. Everyone has to start somewhere. And everyone’s loves and free time is different!
      It will be posted in the next couple of days ☺️✨🥰

    This video is the reason I'm feeling safe enough to start a reading journal! I'm so happy I found your channel because I resonate with being a maximalist and you have really comforting vibes! I want to get back into reading and have a goal of 8 books this year! I appreciate your openness towards taking your time and just enjoying the process of creating something fun to track your reading journey this year!

    • @LindselleCreates
      @LindselleCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yesss start a reading journal to track your stats!
      8 books is so many books to complete on one year! I am so happy to hear I am comforting and that you too are a maximalist ☺️
      Good luck in your reading for 2023 😌😌✨

    Love 💕 that your a slow reader, bcuz life is real. We have jobs with families and responsibilities. I Totally just began reading this month and oh my I love it. And I’ve always thought how do I keep up with all my reading etc. I use to read/listen to audio books a lot. And I 😅can’t remember which ones I did read back in the day, just remember the author. Lol 😝. New subbie here. TFS 📚🥰

    • @LindselleCreates
      @LindselleCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you had a book journal back then you would have been able to know which ones you’ve read! BUT if you don’t remember, there is no harm reading good books over and over! They work just like comfort tv shows and movies ☺️
      Life is real and I have a lot of hobbies that I bounce my time between. But recently I have been in a rut in all of my hobbies. Hoping July is the month that changes!
      Thanks for subscribing 🥰✨

    I'm a slow reader myself. However, you may think I'm fast with the amount of books I talk about on my channel. Audiobooks definitely help me with my reading. They're life savers, especially on the days my epilepsy and migraines want to bother me. I love your reading journal setup. I repurposed one that I created and never used. I drew things in it, however I'll be scrapbooking in it as well. FYI I'm a maximalist, too. My pages have to be filled with ALL the things. 😅

    • @LindselleCreates
      @LindselleCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay!! Love finding other fellow slow readers. I actually JUST got into audiobooks. I am listening to my first one right now, and I listen to it on my drive to and from work. I work about an hour away and need to go into the office twice a week. The first day I didn’t love it, but it was a learning curve and something to get used to and day two LOVED it!
      Repurposing an old journal is so god! So many journalers want to start a fresh one, but I really don’t want to not use a full journal. I have a few I started and never finished and I plan to rip out the pages to use for collaging and other journaling spreads ☺️
      YAY! Maximalists are the best 😜✨

    Congratulations on reading 17 books last year! Unsure what your process is for making collages/filling out your journal, but I've started listening to audiobooks while I journal and it's been really enjoyable and relaxing and I recommend trying it out if you like!

    • @LindselleCreates
      @LindselleCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for recommending that! I too want to get into listening to audio books. I like watching criminal minds as I jour al and collage and stuff haha but I will be commuting to work two days a week that audio books would be perfect for. I am just hesitant on another subscription to sign up for 😂💸 thanks for watching! ✨😊

    I want to say, thanks for mentioning that you don't read a lot, because it's good at encouraging people to try this even if they are going to read 1-5 books in a year.
    I'm a huge reader, last year I read about 200 books, but I don't track them and I think I might borrow some of your spreads to help me with that.
    Finally, the apostrophe on 5 ⭐ is not needed, it makes the word "star" possessive. Just wanted to point that out 🤦🏾‍♀️
    Good luck with your reading journey this year.

      I am happy to inspire you!! Wow 200 books that is amazing!!
      Lol thank you! I always struggled with English even though it is the only language I speak 🤦🏼‍♀️ I am more of a math girl Hahahha 💁🏼‍♀️
      Thank you, you as well!! Thank you for watching 😌✨

    I’m also a slow mood reader and one thing I use to keep my rating more ‘unbiased’ is CAWPILE (Characters, Atmosphere, Writing, Plot, Intrigue, Logic, Enjoyment) this way you can still rate it based on how much you liked the book but you also get to dissect how it was written and which parts of the books were good
    I have so many books that score low everywhere except Enjoyment and I know that despite childhood nostalgia and my love for the magical realism genre these books are trash, still love ‘em tho which will crank up the overall rating (which is why I think it’s also important to write down the individual scores when you use CAWPILE as not everyone will know what you mean)

    • @LindselleCreates
      @LindselleCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never heard of this form of rating before! This is so cool to know, thank you for sharing. 😊

    One of my struggles as a slow reader is wanting to make spreads but having nothing to make spreads for

    • @LindselleCreates
      @LindselleCreates  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am always behind in making spreads so I don't have that issue. But you could always make spreads for your TBR instead! Do spreads for books you wish to read ☺️☺️
