I don't know if it was ever explained, but Infected is basically an enemy of Error 404, he goes through universes mostly avoiding too much issues, however if he decides to fight you he is extremely powerful; he absorbs portions of other Sans' that he's eaten or at least taken bites out of, hence his head wound and scar across his chest, he ate a piece of horror and geno, his axe is also stolen from horror though unlike his, it has a sorta glaive like mode where the blade detaches and can be swung around on a chain; he also has the ability to cover himself in nightmares ink like stuff and become immune to damage for 5 turns of combat as well as several other things from Sans' that he's eaten.

This makes complete sense though. Geno exists outside of the normal game code within the save screen, his very code prevents him from experiencing death due to his circumstances. Error is a being capable of accessing the game files, and is able to “kill” sentient code, erasing the data completely. Error “killing” Geno triggered a segmentation fault, a segmentation fault occurs when a program or entity attempts to bypass or load and illegal memory or action, creating a paradox within the script and crashing it entirely. Error attempted to kill Geno while Geno was still in the save screen, rendering him immune against death, but because Error is a program that can override code itself in order to delete it, Error basically completely blue screened Geno instead.
incase anyones wondering, fatal error is the result of what happened when error tried to kill geno, since he viewed him as a glitch that needed to be eliminated. because of genos determination, plus the fact you cant die in the loading screen, not even error could kill him, at least not entirely. instead his attempts to erase geno from existance essentially broke him even further, made him lose all his memory of who he once was except for papyrus, and also for whatever reason, gave him is own version of some of errors powers, like his threads.

To answer everyone’s question infected is a sans who is out for LV or was and then therefore when alphatale was well existing he went there and ended up destroying it making him the first au destroyer he also ended up killing Alpha! Sans which caused to be to error 404 the way he is and it’s unknown if infected is alive still there have sightings throughout the aus but there has been a rumors that he was killed by error 404 but either way if infected is still alive then 404 is still hunting him for what he did. Sorry this a long explanation but it’s what I have known. Edit: infected has also been sighted in the classic timeline and AT’s more specifically by papyrus in a different timeline
Underfell is somewhat messy to me because since it's a community based effort, and not only one person doing the story, I'm never sure which 'canon' to use And yeah I guess the humans and flowey are actually technically less mean than they're in undertale, Sans probably should've mentioned that

FE didn't dollify Error... he nearly ripped his arm off completely, and forced both him, Ink, and that other sans to flee. Infected was once known simply as Peace!Sans, and he lived within the prime AU known as PeaceTale, where monsters and humans never battled, and everyone was already on the surface. Then the unthinkable happened, his world succumbed to what would be known as the infection, his world began to warp and distort, random errors and glitches began to occur, and his world was made uninhabitable. Sans tried to fight it off at first, to no avail, before diving into it in a desperate fight to survive, and it changed him. Sans lost everything that made him who he once was, and became a being of pure chaos, and so he wandered, looking to destroy.
11:08 as far as I've been able to tell, infected is the one that destroyed alphatale and made error404 the way he is. In other words, he's both stronger, and more evil, than even error404. On the plus side, if you do accidentally piss error404 off, and infected shows up, he'll probably forget about whatever you did entirely and go into a blind rage against infected instead
I'm pretty sure (from what I remember) that canonically William only "killed" Jacob (I think that's infected's name) because of Willaimhacking the Anti-void then grabbed some of the Anti-void code and used it as wires to delete infected/Jacob which was only possible because he hacked the Anti-void which gave him enough power to defeat infected

It all started with a fight between Error and Geno. Geno lost, and Error tied him up with his strings. But when he attempted to eliminate him, Geno's Determination combined with the fact that he is a past Error saved him. He turned into Fatal_Error, and he became much more powerful.He now travels across universes trying to collect codes to recreate his Papyrus. But, his attempts continue to fail to only create broken versions.Fatal has a lot of brotherly love for Papyrus, although he is cold towards his created brother known as Patch.However, his love has turned into an extreme, where he now goes to any measure to get Papyrus back, even if it means breaking apart universes. He is not unwilling to physically harm anyone who gets in his way and is not one for listening to explanations.He is emotionally very damaged, and Patch describes him as often having very emotional moments. In fact, I think I remember reading somewhere that Classic Papyrus actually saw him before, having mistaken him for Classic Sans. To answer everyone’s question infected is a sans who is out for LV or was and then therefore when alphatale was well existing he went there and ended up destroying it making him the first au destroyer he also ended up killing Alpha! Sans which caused to be to error 404 the way he is and it’s unknown if infected is alive still there have sightings throughout the aus but there has been a rumors that he was killed by error 404 but either way if infected is still alive then 404 is still hunting him for what he did.
Sorry this a long explanation but it’s what I have known.
Edit: infected has also been sighted in the classic timeline and AT’s more specifically by papyrus in a different timeline

After watching the ending(?), I feel bad for the other Sanses, Papyruses, Cross and Classic!Papyrus, now. I agree with that comparison, a very large margin.
I found out that the guy who made this Sans theme made a part 2... didn't know Fresh!Vos was a thing until a few minutes of posting this.

Infected was once known simply as Peace!Sans, and he lived within the prime AU known as PeaceTale, where monsters and humans never battled, and everyone was already on the surface.
Then the unthinkable happened, his world succumbed to what would be known as the infection, his world began to warp and distort, random errors and glitches began to occur, and his world was made uninhabitable.
Sans tried to fight it off at first, to no avail, before diving into it in a desperate fight to survive, and it changed him.
Sans lost everything that made him who he once was, and became a being of pure chaos, and so he wandered, looking to destroy.

On the plus side, if you do accidentally piss error404 off, and infected shows up, he'll probably forget about whatever you did entirely and go into a blind rage against infected instead

I'm pretty sure (from what I remember) that canonically William only "killed" Jacob (I think that's infected's name) because of Willaimhacking the Anti-void then grabbed some of the Anti-void code and used it as wires to delete infected/Jacob which was only possible because he hacked the Anti-void which gave him enough power to defeat infected

Killer real story: Struck a deal with the Chara to stop the genocides in the cost with being consumed by hate. Very normal Sans.
It all started with a fight between Error and Geno. Geno lost, and Error tied him up with his strings. But when he attempted to eliminate him, Geno's Determination combined with the fact that he is a past Error saved him. He turned into Fatal_Error, and he became much more powerful.He now travels across universes trying to collect codes to recreate his Papyrus. But, his attempts continue to fail to only create broken versions.Fatal has a lot of brotherly love for Papyrus, although he is cold towards his created brother known as Patch.However, his love has turned into an extreme, where he now goes to any measure to get Papyrus back, even if it means breaking apart universes. He is not unwilling to physically harm anyone who gets in his way and is not one for listening to explanations.He is emotionally very damaged, and Patch describes him as often having very emotional moments. Infected- Yea call Insanity the most demented or me the devil all you want but the embodiment of true evil is Infected, all though it's not all is fault but I really don't want to talk about it so I will shorten it, he was mistreated to the point where he was driven into insanity and became the first destroyer.

Infected is the youngest alpha tale brother he was also abused and looked down upon. He went insane and became the first destroyer. His code was broken apart found by codetale, slaughter. Then CT faster sent him to an incomplete au. This Audible became horror tale

fatal error was I think a complicated Au, some said its that gene fell into the anti-void and corrupted into fatal error, some said gene fused with error, some other said he was affected by error, either way, fatal error was I think way cooler than error
I like to think fatal error is what happens when a geno starts to become error but stops but just starting down that path is enough to corrupt him and drive him insane. (It's just my headcannon)
Fatal_Error’s existence is a paradox. He was made by Error going to his old AU, then “killing” the current Geno while he was in the save screen (and since he can’t die in the save screen) it had caused him to be some sort of Error.

So, from what I know/remember, Infected is the first destroyer in the multiverse. In fact, I think I remember reading somewhere that Classic Papyrus actually saw him before, having mistaken him for Classic Sans.
