In the beginning of Ateez, Seonghwa struggled a lot with his apperance. He hated they way he looked and was incredibly insecure about it, until Atiny's continuously told hime he was handsome and were always complimented him. Now, he really is able to see himself as handsome and be more confident in his apperance and being himself. I think Seonghwa is just more of a sentimental guy, so when he does covers, I think, he wants them to have a strong and clear message so Atiny understand how much he loves us and how much our love for him has impacted him and helped him appreciate himself. Plus I think the sentimental songs just showcase the messages he wants to give out to Atiny. Also, Seonghwa's duality just comes from him being apart of the demon line. His ability to pull off characters needs to be studied cause it's wild. Seonghwa auditioned as a rapper, but became a singer. So within the past few years he has been rapping more and more, but I believe his rapping on Ateez songs came from Mingi's hiatus and they had Seonghwa cover a lot of Mingi's versus in live performances. But his rap skills are crazy and everytime he raps everyone goes crazy. Also we have Seonghwa for MATZ being a rap song, because Hongjoong wanted to do a lovey, slower song and Seonghwa was the one who wanted to do a rap song. Eventually once you've gotten through all the members, you'll have to watch the fancams to really see the duality of all of them. Plus they showcase of different every member of Ateez is!
I remember how much effort Hongjoong had to put in to convince Seonghwa to out the Story never Ends video but it's because of his encouragement that he eventually posted it. But when all is said and done, he is a very down to earth, sentimental guy, especially with his members and Atiny and that is because of his past struggles with self-confidence and how because of Atiny telling him how gorgeous he was that he started to love himself.
Seonghwa will definitely give you whiplash. Seonghwa is my bias and was definitely the trigger that got me initially into Ateez. I loved his almost unhinged stage persona and his powerful, imposing aura. He regularly burns down stages and embodies whatever character mode he is in. Imagine my surprise when I found out what I lovely marshmallow he is. He is unapologetically goofy and sentimental. He collects Star Wars figures, builds Legos (never did I think I would watch a man quietly build Legos on a live for 3 HOURS), is obsessed with Animal Crossing, and has a pet moss named Ikkimasu (Ikki=moss + masu=Mars(Mars is Seonghwa’s name reversed in Korean)). The other members have said several times that Seonghwa is exactly the same off-camera as he is on-camera. He takes care of everyone, including Atiny. He also knooooows everything going on in the fandom. He regularly references memes and things Atiny have said. He is one of the most active members on their social media (TOKTOQ, Instagram, and Fromm) and has recognized fans when he meets them in person. WooSanHwa (Wooyoung, San, and Seonghwa) is one of my favorite friend groups and they often do content together. Wooyoung does his own behind vlog called OSOS (Our side of the Story) and the last own was a day out in Japan with these three. It is a fun watch.
Seonghwa and Hongjoong actually wrote Matz themselves and it has so many word plays, dissing the antis and stalkers. Hongjoong also helped with the producing!
I have a feeling you will love The World Ep Fin: WILL. It’s a full length album, and it’s their latest Korean comeback. Crazy form and MATZ are on that album. It seems like it would be your style. You might also like the song “The Leaders”, especially because you liked MATZ and To The Beat.

Since he auditioned as a rapper but they onboarded him as a vocalist, so he used to practice at times when no one would hear him sing. He is an incredible singer with an amazing range. He has an amazing vocal range from high notes to deep lower notes, he also does a lot of ad-libs in various songs. And can't talk about Seonghwa without talking about his perfomance skills. He's a part of the demon and has insane facial expressions and the most graceful yet powerful dance moves🙌🏻 He completely immerses in character for each performance, keep an eye out. It's a treat to watch him perform.
I wish you reacted to Seonghwa's cover of Winner's Empty. The other songs were so similar in color and style to each other, it would have been nice for you to see more variety and his full range.
I like the idea that you explore each member and take the time to get to know our Boys. Seonghwa is so talented. He's voice can be the sweetest melody that make your heart warm.
