My favorite part of the process for cross stitching is starting the project. My favorite part of the process for quilting is also starting the project. You gals outdid yourself this time. Beautiful, FFO’s, Finishes and starts. Oh my! Beautiful.
Favorite part of the process is the final finish of a project. I’d be very happy for a LONG time if I’d get my get all my WIPS finished!
My favorite part is kitting it up and starting. Like a lot of people I don’t like the actual FFO’g but I usually love the finished project.
I’ve a survey idea for you all. Fav thing about watching floss tube and least fav thing that makes you click past. Of course not anything here makes me click past- I always check to make sure I havent missed one or I rewatch an previous episode. ❤.
I like that - thanks!
I love kitting up both my quilts and my cross stitch projects.
I enjoy the finishing for gifting to others. My finishes are in a box. I really should finish some to display. Quilting, I enjoy the sewing part and seeing the quilt top all come together. Have a great week.
I enjoy kitting up my cross stitch and starting a new project. As for quilting I enjoy doing the binding, by hand, because it is almost finished. Great floss tube today!
Finishing! My OCD likes to see the end. 😊
Enjoyed the video! My favorite thing to do in quilting is piecing together the quilt, and in cross stitching is kitting up the project.
Such a hard question for me to answer this time. I do love to start a piece the most I think but that last few stitches is so satisfying when the project is finished. I think that is my second favorite.
Hi. I really liked your temperature stitch. I love all things from Scarlett House. You two are easy to listen to. :)
Thank you!
My favorite part of cross stitch, is when I can retire a color. So when I’m stitch and one color is no longer needed, I call it retiring a color.
Oh, that's a good one!
I love it in Northern Indiana ❤. It’s been awhile since we been there, need to correct that! I love that bag, being a knitter of socks would be wonderful! I think my favorite part of the process is the cross stitch.
My favorite part is finishing the stitching.
I would leave Star Spangled Bitdthday as is. I like it that way. I think your work is nicely showcased. You want to show off your stitches, not framing. My favorite part of quilting is piecing the top and in X-stitch it's doing the actual stitches. That's why I quilt or stitch...I like the patterns and enjoy seeing them come together. Except for a last minute baby quilt, I've never been in a big hurry to finish. That's a let down for me.
Wow - I have no idea what my favorite part is. I know what parts I don't like LOL.
Lovely catching up with you both! Next time you’re around Hacketstown, let me know, I’m not too far from there!
We will, would be fun to meet you!
# 28 Looks nice as is, or maybe trim it down, I would not put a fabric over foam core. Love the SWTH piece. Love to buy accessory goodies for X-stitch & all the charts. Favorite is to do a New Start, but sometimes don't like to Kit them up because I'm always missing One Floss or I stress over which fabric to stitch them on. Now I'm kitting them up, putting into project bags, so when they are 100% kitted, I'm thrilled.
Helen D and the Two Tall Stitchers. I like the sound of that! 🤣 A five day retreat sounds amazing! You both got so much accomplished. I'm so glad you're going to have enough fabric to make a reindeer bag Jen!
I was hoping you’d think it was funny and not stalker-y 😂
I love the process of kitting up and working on the project. Last week I asked about framing. I did not word my question correctly. I was actually asking about attaching to a scroll frame for stitching. I am not sure how to approach this and what method is the best eg Velcro, sewing etc ….❤ also Are there any tips about what to look for in a scroll frame. Thank you for being so approachable. ❤
We will talk about this when we film today
Dreaming. No cost or frogging required.
You both have gotten so much done. 🌟🌟I love Carol’s bag she made with the challenge fabric! Carol’s placemats are awesome! Love your pumpkin pillow top, Jen! Can’t wait to see that done. Carol’s BOO pillow is so cute!!
I don’t know if I can choose one favorite part of stitching. I find so much joy in ALL of it. I can say my least favorite (although I’m currently enjoying even this😂). Least fave is the actual starting of a project - finding the starting point and those first few stitches. 💚
As always like to see your you tube channel. A question I have for anyone who cross stitches Mill Hill kits is do you know why they use perforated paper instead of material like Aida or even weave? I was just wondering:)
Thank you looking up my question:)
Thanks for the awesome video...thanks for sharing all your joy in the journey of your crafts...I love everything in the process of quilts and cross stitch...the shopping to finishing...best wishes ❤❤
I think I like the middle of everything...quilting, stitching, crochet. I really enjoy seeing progress on whatever current project I'm working on.
Great flosstube. Always enjoy watching you both. My favorite part of stitching is the actual stitching and watching the piece come to life. My favorite part of quilting is the binding.
Wonderful video ladies. All of your stitching and quilting is lovely ❤. I become panicked when I have to connect my binding ends.. any advice or recommendations? My favorite part of stitching is kitting it up, and then seeing the finished product. I don’t enjoy cutting in quilting, but I love the stitching and shopping. 🎉🎉. Thank you both, Denise
I like the idea of you and Helen D. Doing a collaboration 😊, I enjoy her floss tube too 🙌🏼
Enjoyed all the fun projects! My favorite part of stitch projects is the stitching itself. Very calming for me. My favorite part of quilting is picking the fabrics.
Jennifer and Carol! Greetings from Dallas, Texas! Been watching your videos for a couple of months now and am loving them!! You both are a delight! Love Block Party 31st! Can’t wait to see it finished! Also, I think the way Star Spangled Birthday is currently framed looks fantastic! My favorite part of the stitch (I’m a cross stitcher) is watching the design come together as I’m stitching it. Can’t wait for your next flosstube!!
I apologize in advance for an answer that I know will be challenging to fit into a chart/graph! I really enjoy the act of stitching - especially when a project is going quickly and well and I can sit down and enjoy the colors and seeing the pattern come to life. BUT… depending on my mood, I also love to buy, kit and finish. Im REALLY trying to love FFO-ing…but that’s not going super well! I’ve got 25~ FO’s to FFO 🥴. I think for sewing its the finishing that I love the most. I sew project bags and I adore suing them.
Great ep. This week! Good luck with all of your projects…I sure hope that none of them will fall into the “never to be seen again” category!
My favorite part of the process is probably the planning and kitting up. But I do like all of it really. I loved your challenge fabric projects. Great use of the fabric. Coincidentally, your new challenge fabric I was just working with last night. I had purchased a 5" charm pack of Riley Blake, Lori Holt's Prairie fabrics and am making coasters from them. Great work gals. See you in a couple of weeks.
Fun video. Your finishes are beautiful. My favorite part of stitching is kitting up projects….I would love to do that for a living. My favorite part of quilting is piecing and watching the completed blocks stack up.
I think my favorite part of the process is the actual stitching itself and seeing the design come to life on my "canvas" of fabric. Least favorite part: FFO-ing. Just ask my ever growing pile of FOs 😂. Carol, I thought I recognized a fellow north Jersey girl😉. Loved seeing all of your stitching, quilting and other projects today. You two are always great company while I stitch!😊
My favorite part of the stitching process is not going to be a popular one😊. I LOVE the counting! Numbers are so rational, and in this typically irrational world, I find comfort in the black and white of them. If you count wrong, you typically know pretty quickly, especially since most patterns (at least those I tend to stitch) are symmetrical.
I'm a math person, and as a Treasurer it's a big part of my life, but as I tell my kids, letters DO NOT belong in my math...needless to say, the "higher maths" are a none starter for me.
Kinda like to TV watching as well. Good vs. Evil, good wins, next episode! 😂😂😂
Great content as always.
Loved all things - especially the framing. As for the counted thread, I really like the way it was framed. The outer edge mimics the distance between the center & the border. The question- I’d have to say the planning for both cross stitch & quilting. I’m Monogamous stitcher with big dreams of stitching up I don’t want to know how many kitted projects. 😂😂
Jen your framed piece at the beginning looks fine to me. Your Nans window super cute! That corner log cabin ive been making it with pink, green and yellow scraps as it looks like a rosebud to me. Carol love those placemats. That would be a clgood project to try the braid! 💓 What is my favorite part besides shopping 😂? I love hand quilting ❤. Even if i machine i still put in some hand stitches. I enjoy your show 😊 and shout out to Helen from Canada 🇨🇦
What a wonderful video. Your stitching and sewing are both fabulous. I love the idea of a quilting retreat - one day hopefully. All your work is beautiful. I love knitting up projects and actually this week just kitted up a load of things because I am doing 24 in 24 for cross stitch. In quilting I love the cutting part. But generally I just love everything 😂. Thanks so much for sharing. Always a fun time had with you both.
My favorite part of the process of twitching or quilting is the actual stitching and seeing it come to life. I love seeing the finished
Product of stitching displayed but procrastinate actually finishing it for display. Love your videos!!! Btw. I hate the kitting part. That’s why I love buying the full kits.
Hi! Thanks for the update 😊. You've both been super busy!
Jen, your framed piece looks fine to me, but you're the one looking at it for the next 60 years or so! 😅
XS: I like deciding which chart to start next, which includes calculating the fabric size to see if I have suitable fabric in my stash. If I don't, I have to choose something else to start. I like the math.
Q: Buying fabric and notions! ⚘️
What a great video, Carol and Jennifer! You two are an inspiration to get things done! Love the projects you made with th challenge fabric. Tge framed counted thread project is really nice the way it was completed. With the colorful border of the stitching, the cream fabric and then the blue frame gave my eyes a resting place. They didn't complete with the picture. Nice work with the framing choice.
I enjoy pulling the threads and fabric for my cross stitch projects. For quilting, I love pulling fabrics to see what will look great together for a quilt, table runner, etc. I also enjoy sewing the binding down by hand. The project is finished.
Hugs❤
My favorite part is the kitting up my project. I like the project you did like the way you finished it. What does drawn threads mean? Thanks. I always love watching you 2!
I enjoy the process of stitching. Also, perhaps Saint Anthony could help find your missing light!?!💡🙏🏻💡
For cross stitch I love the buying and stitching. I do not like to finish si I have a box full of non fully finished projects.I have only fully finished gifts. For quilting I really enjoy the cutting out followed by the piecing. I love Shipshewana and always wanted to go to a retreat there. Grew up in Fort Wayne and after I married and moved south. I would go home every summer with my girls to visit my family. The Essenhause, Yoders and the Mercantile were always on our must do list. My husband from Ohio always went to the Indy 500.
You two almost make me want to quilt. My favorite part of cross stitch is the purchasing and envisioning where I will display the piece in my home. A close second is stitching the project, not starting because I don’t enjoy kitting. Or finishing, because once it’s finished it becomes a monkey on my back until it’s ffo’d which is not my favorite. But then when it’s ffo’d I love it because then what I envisioned is ready to display. 😜
Lots of great inspiration today! My favorite part is buying the kitted project, be it cross stitch or quilt. Then putting the first stitches in a blank linen. The tautness of the fabric in the hoop, the sound of the thread pulling through. . .ahhhh, so heavenly! In quilting, sewing the binding on by hand is my favorite. I love hand sewing! Happy stitching!
Love that temperature chart. I keep waiting for someone to chart a willow tree (my favorite tree.) But Stitching Mommy didn't commit 😪
Jenn, I think you should leave your counted canvas as is. If you have the frame cut down, your blues will all run together and pull your eye from the stitching. I think you need the negative space. Carol, the Candy Corn of Mischief by Bent Creek was stitched on 18 count raw linen over two with the pearl cotton. Happy Halloween 🎃🎃
Oh I would say it’s the kitting up and choosing fabric and threads.
Carol, I absolutely loved your challenge bag! Can’t wait to see what you two choose to make next year!
Yeah, finishing for sure is the best part of any project. Then it is usable, displayable, shareable, and happy for the accomplishment.
My favorite part of making a quilt is hand stitching down the binding. I most enjoy stitching the last 25% of a project. I quess I like to see that the end is in sight. Why is it then that I don't love FFOing!
The bag of the challenge fabric is so gorgeous!!!! My favorite part of stitching is to watch them finished and displayed on my walls.
I love kitting up a new project. Lovely finishes!! Love the Boo and pumpkins pillows!
My favorite part of the process is shopping for patterns, threads and getting fabric. Kitting not so much because I have projects already kitted and need thread from that project for the new project. Was kitting something today and found 4 Winnie B colors from WDW. Do not remember buying that many. So now I have a list of the colors of WDW and marking them off and putting how many skeins I have of that color
Love all the sewing and quilting projects this time! It must feel good to have made so much progress at your retreat. Love that challenge fabric bag and the looking for cookies wall hanging especially. For stitching I enjoy watching the picture come together as you stitch it, and seeing it complete when you finish.
I think your piece looks like it has been matted...I wouldn't change a thing.
My favorite part is getting close to a finish and just going at it to get it DONE! It is invigorating!
Love the variety of your projects! Jen, on your counted thread piece, I like the bare canvas showing, as I think it helps balance the small amount of light in the stitched piece. I have had counted pieces framed both ways - it's purely what appeals to you! The favorite part of a project is the actual stitching of the piece, so I can watch it come alive. For me, too many decisions at the beginning - buying, knitting, actually putting the first stitch in and too many decisions at the end in FFOing.
I love your floss tube and your interaction with each other it brings me back to when my mother and I went on quilting shop hops. I love your finishing techniques. Thank you again and look forward to your future floss tubes.
My favorite part is doing the actual stitching. I not a good finisher and I don’t like kitting them up 🙄 Your bag is beautiful!! Those fabrics are perfect. I think the patriotic piece looks great as framed, but you have to love it, not me 🫎
My favorite part of stitching is starting the stitching. I buy a lot of kits so I would say kitting up a project is probably my least favorite part! I like the way your patriotic piece was framed. I understand what your concern is but I think it looks great as it is! You have done so well with your FFOs this year! I started out ok but soon got behind and haven’t done any unless they are a gift & I had to get them done! I love Helen D’s tutorials and her FlossTubes! She is great! Have a good 2 weeks and see you next time!
My favorite part of the process is giving the stitched gift and hopefully seeing the recipient’s delight. I very rarely stitch anything for myself. I always make a point of watching your videos because I love seeing all your work. I hope you all have a great week! 💖
I just love you ladies so much! Thanks for your FlossTubes. There are several things I love about cross stitching including organizing all my stuff and finishing a project, but my absolute favorite is the start. There’s just something so satisfying about seeing those first stitches on a pristine fabric.
I love kitting, picking fabric, cutting to size, dying and stitching of course. The finish is very satisfying too, but I love stitching!
Sounds like the retreat was a lot of fun! Somehow I don't believe Carol said Boo when she made a mistake while sewing 😂😂😂 I like the actual process of stitching--not the prep work or the post work.
It was nice to see both of your smiling faces this evening. 🙂🙂 Y'all had some nice FFO's. 👏 My favorite part of the process is the planning and designing. I enjoy selecting or creating patterns or charts and then picking fabrics and or flosses. Then I like seeing what it going to look like and once I know then it becomes a job to complete. I know that sounds a little crazy but my mind moves onto the next idea in my head. I really have to keep myself in check to not start too many things at once. 🤔
For quilting I like it when everything is cut and ready to assemble. For cross stitching the stitching part is my favorite.
I love kitting up a project, choosing fabrics & floss is always so much fun because I get to take out my stash & just play with it! It reminds me of playing with my Aunt's button stash as a kid. 🤓
Sounds like a great retreat. I just went to my first stitch retreat and I agree that you make friends with those around you because you have a guaranteed commonality. My favorite part of the stitching process is shopping and the finish/displaying in my home.
My favorite part of the process of quilting is picking a pattern for the Longarm quilting.
My favorite thing is to kit up and make a zip bag for a cross stitch chart. I enjoyed your information tonight and your cheerful faces. Stay happy.
Can't wait to see your FFO'd Block Party. I am going to try one of her Christmas ones.
I like finishing my projects best, for both cross stitching and quilting.
Shopping and Kitting I think is my favorite part, especially since I have rarely finished anything lol
I love the shopping and kitting up for both quilting and cross-stitch.
I like stitching and finishing projects, but not FFO’ing.
How do you handle the for free table? First come or do you control it some, to give everyone a chance by limiting how many thing they can take at a visit?
Love the finishing, then I can begin a new project, I only do 1 project at a time.
Looks good ! But if you don’t like , I would put material on it . & I think you would love .
My favorite part of a project is kitting it up then putting everything away when it is done.
I really like the results of your quilting fabric challenge; so different but fabulous! Your FFOs are great too! Jen, if your patriotic scene were mine, I'd leave it just the way it is. The ecru acts well as a mat and features the stitched piece well. As for my own projects, I love selecting a design, buying fabric (quilting), hate kitting it up and cutting (quilting), and really love working on the project itself. I enjoy seeing a piece come to life. Think I really am a process person but if it comes out well there is joy in the finish too. Look forward to your next addition.
I am really good at collecting and having plans - follow through is not so good!
Instead of cutting them apart, frame them together.
Whether I’m sewing or stitching seeing the progress as I go is the best part.
In this order: shopping, piecing, gifting to others.
Shopping is my favorite part of any process.
My favorite part of the process is the sewing and cross stitching. 🌻🌻🌻
I think my favorite part is the stitching.
Don’t know if you have ever been to “Always in Stitches” from Noblesville, Indiana. They do utube videos too. Great big shop with yarn, threads for counted cross stitch and kits, quilting fabrics etc. Many more items. If you
Live close it is a great shop. I have not been there but watch their videos. All types of needleworks. Punch needle too.
Yes, we’ve been there several times- more quilt shop that cross stitch
The bag is very
Pretty. Like the shape.
That was me (Lori, aka IslandTimeQuilting) that commented on FB about bumping into one or two Two Tall Stitchers in Persnickety. 😉
Thanks so much Lori!
I like the Star-Spangled Banner birthday just as it is. I don’t know if that’s helpful or not but that’s my opinion. Including my favorite part is the cutting. And in Crosstitch, my favorite thing is the stitching.
thank you!
I love to kit a project and second is starting.
I think your patriotic piece was framed correctly, the negative space allows the stitching to shine because your choice of frame is very simple. Love cutting the fabric when starting a quilt. Cross stitch, I enjoy assembling the kit, actually dislike the act of cross stitch because apparently I can't count.
Les I laughed at your final comment as I think I have the same problem. I do make a grid. It helps.
Both of you get so much accomplished! Beautiful quilts and projects. A true creative inspiration! Love your youtube ❤
thank you so much!
Hi! I sent an email. Thank you!!
I love planning projects. 😁
Thank you ladies for another great broadcast! I loved hearing about the Shipshewana retreat. I’m hoping to be at the May 2024 retreat. Take care.
We won't be there in May but hope to see you next fall!
Hi; your comment about Las Vegas made me laugh. It’s true. 88 degrees around here is a cooler day for us and it’s fantastic. I used to live in the Midwest and don’t think I could handle a ‘cold’ winter anymore.😁
Heat and cool are all relative, aren't they?
Hi ladies
I was watching your video when you showed us the cute snowman quilt. You recommended Mountain Laurel. Which one is the quilting one all I can find is flowers!!
Mountain Laurel Stitches is the TH-cam channel - the quilting video is probably from the last 2-3 months.
I like the stitching and dislike kitting.
I about died laughing when I saw the heading of this flosstube! I recently began caregiving a 96 year old named Helen and she actually said that exact quote to me last Sunday!!
Hahaha!
