When you know B.I’s backstory, you’ll understand the lyrics a lot more. Also, as much as i understand it’s your opinion, depression is very much not a choice for many. Clinical depression, bipolar depression, postpartum depression are all very much not a choice. People who suffer from these cant just “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” and get over it. Most end up on anti-depressants and go to therapy(if they can afford them). Young children have been diagnosed with depression. It’s an imbalance in the brain that they cant control. I say all this because i have many friends and family with depression and because you likely have many viewers with some form of depression. I say this with so much love and hope that you can be understanding of those with depression or other mental illnesses. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
B.I had some controversies in the last years wich lead him to leave his group (ikon) and also his activities because he was promoting a song with one of his best friend (lee hi). For him the most hearbreaking thing was that a lot of fans left him alone and he says that a lot on this album. Btw check if you want Waterfall that has also a perfomance video and is also the name of the album, our hanbin deserves some love

Musa, the back story is, BI getting kicked out of YG and IKon due to some fake scandals.. It is about how he suffered through this much to come out with his own song, and label,to do what he likes now as a solo.

He won an award Songwriter of the year 2018 for a reason.. One of his masterpiece is Ikon - Love scenario
this kid has been depressed since he was like 15 rotting away in the yg dungeon. they company put him through so much.
I don't know this guy very well, but I liked his song 🎶
The lyrics will cut you deep if you have gone through or at least understand what he had been through.. Left alone, depression that led to lots of crying but yes he try to put the song more cheerful.. He won Best Songwriter award for a reason.. His lyrics had that deep powerful that can also contains different meaning.. But at the end he was happy, he will just try to build the sandcastle again, his career.

depression is not a choice because when my life fell apart I without knowing have developed it as well as many other mental illness. Depression is a deadly disease just like cancer. Depression is a war, is a living hell, it takes everything you have and the stronger you fight back, the more it hurts and the stronger it becomes.
of course everyone have deferent opinions but if you meet someone who has depression never tell them it is a choice, that would be like telling someone who has a deadly decease that it was their choice to get sick. I know depression and it took away someone I loved more than anyone. His words, his songs, his voice, everything about him helped me but I couldn't even see him, I couldn't help him even once. Years later I am still living in regret and diving deeply in depression myself
