i hope companies keep including foam options tho, im a foam/pe-sheet fan.. i feel like theres this trend to be "hip" now n be a no foam no pe sheet purist lol but i do understand some people really do not prefer having foam at all
I think most people are fine with foam being an optional option, but are just frustrated with a lot of keyboards being designed around foam instead of designing the board to sound the best it can be foamless
it's kinda gone the other way after the BIG hype for foam and pe sheets, (i hope) that after the rush of no foam it will go to the middle and people will enjoy both sides
There's no hip trend for no foam. It's about trying out different configurations that suits your needs. As an example there is no way I could live with the Rama U80 without any foam, it's much too hollow sounding. And with the Mode Sonnet it's perfectly fine without foam imo
I really liked your take on this and I think you have added to the discourse on this board! (I also laugh at myself, when I build stuff, cool idea to leave that in :D)
great video, just snagged mine in champagne the other day (now fully sold out). have no idea what switches and keycaps I'll pair with it, but the board is too beautiful and sounds amazing to pass up. I'm excited
@@quangbuule1332 was considering joining the GMK Olivia GB just for this board, think I'm going to put gmk blossom on it. Also decided to go with Black Cherry Pies platelets
I owned and sold the frog TKL, and honestly I wasn't really impressed with it. Because the frog mini uses the same tadpole mounting system, I'd prefer the arc60!
Seriously love the dark gold case color. Perfect match with GMK Civ! My only hangup is that I really don't want to use a 60% or less that doesn't offer split spacebar... same thing that held me back from Hex.3C v2. Any thoughts on commissioning custom PCBs to let me enjoy these wonderful and small new offerings?
Flex cuts are great as an option or something, but they’ll never beat a standard PCB. Tape mod is a poor sub for a good 1.6mm PCB without cuts And take them out of the standard included plates too. You want flex, design a good mounting system instead of neutering the most required components of the board
Haha, I totally agree. I think flex cuts sacrifice sound for bounce, when I for one didn't really need a keyboard that bounced to begin with. But I think it's popular because it's different, and then it just kinda became meta :P I'm sure the pendulum will swing soon and brass plates will be meta once again!! BRASS GANG ARISEEEEE
Were there issues with the angle?? I hadn't really heard of them until this board, but I'm seriously impressed with it! But that might explain the low price... maybe they're trying to bernstein bears the market, LOL
ooh gotcha. yeah I'd have to say this board is the opposite because of what you get for your money. Looking at the GB page for the angle, it seems pretty decent for the price with the actual leaf spring plate and such, but a $400 TKL is going to have some really stiff competition :P

I totally agree. The option/choice is always better and there’s nothing wrong with preferring the sound profile of foams!
I totally agree as well though, because if a board needs foam to sound good then it’s kind of a disappointing experience :P

Oh god I've stumbled out of the budget keebs under $100 territory
such consistently high quality videos yet so little views. u should consider sharing on reddit or something so improve diacoverability of your channel
Ooh that’s a good idea!!! I was actually thinking of adding long form text content to my reviews so maybe I’ll try posting them on Reddit!
This was a great video style for the hobby - I really like that you did not do the standard ( as you stated ) unbox, build, and sound test!
Solid video! Love the experimentation with mill-max plateless. Thanks for another solid piece of content!

Somebody cancelled the order and I was lucky enough to grab that last champagne, thinking of putting my GMK Olivia Dark or IFK Cafe on.
OOF I've got IFK cafe staring at me right now and I think that would look glorious

Hell yeeee, I'm getting Champagne WK as well. Glad to see it looks amazing irl 🔥
LETSGOO!!! My wife just watched the vid and she also approves, haha!!
What are your thoughts on sotc?
They have an amazing stock experience! I haven’t a/b’d them against other long poles, but they are very smooth and feel and sound nice and poppy!
Would you choose the arc60 or the frog mini if price was not a problem?

Haha!!! You should check out PCBway, I know they offer services like that and they are supposedly pretty affordable!
What is the keycaps?
GMK Maestro!

What’s the Deskmat?
Sorry for the late reply, it’s the Omni type floral deskmat!

dude your content deserves so much more views, subs etc...
Thanks so much for the support!!!
