TypeScript is one of those things that you really like as your project gets bigger but you won't see the value of it right away on a small hobby project as it may seem like too much boilerplate.

Used it for my first ever javascript assignment in a web development course (by choice, not prescribed by the course). A simple ~300 line (ts code, including comments and test data) ajax site. Very pleasant experience. I actually had to manage his first problem with encoding arity in types, so I chose to pass interface objects as arg lists.

+1 for compiler documentation, it gets real hard to write lint rules sometimes.

32:00 Wouldn't you be better off with actual immutability with Object.freeze()?
54:35 Because interfaces describe object literals, there is no actual way to perform a type check. However, it would be useful if TypeScript could automatically generate type guard functions. For now, things like user responses are super tedious to check.

I'd also like to see blockchain citations, especially in academia, and mass media(mass media is a mixed bag regarding citations).

Is typescript a higher level language than Julia? I think it would be useful to have do.ething that is based on latex and javascript (I know the later influenced TS) and that accommodates Julia Code and JSON in Excel. I tex reader in word would also be nice, as well as the ability to export .doc from Julia.

If only the IE team took the same approach as you guys with the babel. "Trying to change the tide was not the right move".

    Google IO has better suibtitles.
MS does a good job pretending to care about devs, but the boreness and lack of care with details on this presentation, like the subtitle, show thats not true
