- French Canadian step dancing in the Midwest. Tamara Loewenthal, Tess Flynn, and Annie Stowers dance a trio, with steps gleaned from many sources. Musicians are Jamie Gans (fiddle), Eric Schedler (accordion), and Grey Larsen (piano).
I've lived in Canada, Scotland and now in England. The tune reminds me of my Canadian youth with fiddlers Don Messer, followed by Ned Landry on the radio and TV. I love that dance evolution means that we take the best of each culture: French, Scottish, English, Irish, German, Scandanavian, etc, and maybe even native people. But keep commercialism, competitions and judges out of it. Let the people decide - it belongs to them! I love it, even though in my older age, I'm having to hang up both my leather and English wooden soled dance shoes.
Pas mal du tout ! Bravo les danseuses, bravo les musiciens !
Wow! What energy and grace!
Looks Irish. What's the difference?

lovely music and dance can we have pure candaian dance
All step dance cultures merge when immigrants merge. And tunes as well, so nothing is pure. I love that dance evolution means that we take the best of each culture: French, Scottish, English, Irish, German etc, and maybe even native people. But keep commercialism, competitions and judges out of it. Let the people decide - it belongs to them!
Very entertaining.
Can you name the first tune?
