    Where do you get the wooden wicks from? Love the video thank you

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually get them from suppliesforcandles.co.uk however often times they are out of stock. cosyowl.com/?gclid=CjwKCAiA5sieBhBnEiwAR9oh2owF0LFB3_Tw-ezdS4DQp2EBxuimzfS7Kj85olYc4X9s6TLOaQVHBhoC8scQAvD_BwE also stocks some. Hope that helps. If they’re not available to you, Googling “wooden wick candle suppliers” may help
      Hope that’s useful ☺️

    What wax do you use?
    At what temperature do you pour?

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use ecosoya melt wax and pour at around 60- 70 degrees

  • @RTG1031

    Question, does any of the fragrance get burned off when you use the heat gun?

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I’m only heating it up for a very small amount of time so it won’t effect the smell of the candle

  • @RTG1031
    @RTG1031 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another question, do you have to measure how much dye you use to how much wax you are using in your container?

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t really measure but I usually just make sure that the mica will still dissolve. If I use maybe 100g of wax, I probably wouldn’t go over 1 tablespoon.

    Where did you find the rectangle wick stickers??

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re just normal double sided sticky foam. Maybe google square double sided foam and you should find it

    A second question, please.. Why didn't you add the color with the wax when it melted?

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I left a larger part of the melted wax blank to make it look white and I coloured a small part with black mica.

  • @jamarparker2760
    @jamarparker2760 ปีที่แล้ว

    What temp did you let it cook down to to pour the marbled wax.

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no exact temperature. I just waited until it was slightly solid and not too runny. Either way, when you pour it should cool down so the temperature doesn’t matter too much. Test it out with witch ever wax you have. It differs for every type

    Is wood wick better than thread wick?

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, yes but it’s just a matter of preference. For me, wood wicks burn better and I like the crackling sound that they make. You need to try both to figure out which one you like :)

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I measure it off camera. I usually do 10% of the weight of my wax.

    Mica doesn't do well with wicked candles from my experience

    • @orionshandmade
      @orionshandmade  ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as you don’t put too much in, it burns fine :) Or if you don’t like mica, you can use wax dye, chips or something similar
