    That looked an exhausting hike. You need to get back into shape. Rob.
    Your photo of the rock on Flickr reminds me of the Ansel Adams photo of El Capitan.

    Great work. I just got done reading a article on search and rescue stats. Aperently photographers who get in trouble on the trail, do so for a lack of proper gear . I have done this myself. I'm so focused on the camera gear that I don't take the proper hiking gear for the '"just in case someone goes wrong". Enough water and letting people know where I am. Great info. All the best!

    Nice stitch Rob! That looks like a nice scenic site to photograph. I used to live in the East and went up Clingman's Dome (6643ft) and Mt. Mitchell (6684ft) several times. Great views from the top. I thought they were pretty high until I moved to the Rockies. Base in the nearby cities is about 5,000 ft. Peaks are over 10,000 ft. Until I was acclimatized, I was always out of breath just walking around town.

    Great to see you out and about taking in some lovely country.
    Interested in the choice of lens. There has been some interesting discussion on Olympus forums as to whether to purchase the "plastic fantastic", or the Pro version. Some demonstrably excellent photographers have given a + to the very reasonably priced non Pro version.
    I have one and it suits my needs.
    That said, the Pro version has been universally praised and if top IQ is desired (& the person holding the camera is sufficiently capable), it only stands to reason for the Pro version to be the superior lens.
    Yes, it costs more, is heavier, but is very reasonably priced and weight competitive with FF lens of equivalent focal lengths.

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Robert. Now that my 12-40pro is unreliable, the 8mm fisheye is the only pro lens I own at the moment. Would love to get the 40-150 Pro one day.

    Excellent excursion! Shame you didn't bring all your Nikon gear and a selection of Sigma Art lenses :-)
    Poison Ivy, exhaustion, what's next, Bigfoot? If you take a picture of Bigfoot with the EM1 mk3 at 150mm, there are no excuses for wobbly pictures.
    Thanks for sharing, we have hail and storms down here coming up from Antarctica atm, which is great for macro fungi though. I have been looking for a mushroom called a ghost fungus in the woods, which glows in the dark. All I found so far is wet feet. So I appreciate your summer uploads!

    What a beautiful view! You had a workout too 😁. The 14-150 looks like the perfect lens for such an excursion. Sometimes I am tempted by the 12-45 f4 pro but maybe the 14-150 is more practical?

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. Yes, a workout! I like the 14-150mm and would prefer it over the 12-45 pro for most things I do. I know the pro lenses are sharper but the extra reach @150mm on random photowalks is hard to ignore.
