@@CeeRZet He has a wife and a son, maybe he wants to spend time with them more. When playing for a team like G2 you have to travel a lot and he might not want to do that again.

Siuhy would be a good pick for a post-Niko G2. Surround him with players willing to take his lead and the future will be bright for G2.
Wouldn't actually be surprised if Siuhy was asked and he just said no. He seems to have a good sense of when and where to make his career moves, which is basically a total opposite of aleksib for example.

Hot take: Niko has no eye for talent and that’s why we were so historically critical of him having control in the team. It’s not an issue for star players to exert influence on the team if they actually know what they need to win.

I like watching Niko play, but to Richard's point, it's not hard to be down on Niko after both Karrigan and AleksiB were kicked from his teams and found Major success (pun intended) without him. Yes, Hooxi and Nexa were not phenomenal IGLs during their stints with G2, but G2 did find success with both. How come Niko is the only guy that couldn't win with Karrigan or AleksiB, but players beneath Niko's pedigree could? Why would G2 management consistently make poor decisions solely to ruin Niko's chances at victory? The only common factor is Niko across the board. When he's not involved, it seems like his IGLs blossom.

I think that if we talk about GL's winning % on T site under Snax, we must also look at the fact that their four main maps were Overpass, Nuke (heavily CT-sided) and Vertigo, Ancient (CT-sided). Their main perma ban was Inferno, and second most banned map was Anubis (heavily T-sided). I thinks that may have affected the percentage.
That somehow make him sound worse. Its way easier to cook up a CT tactic than T especially mid game.
I think role fixation is much less on "this player can't play this well". Its a lot more of how much they like the roles in general. People perform worse when they're in positions that they don't like and don't fit their personality/style. But yeah, malbs was an anchor on TeamOne so he knows the deal, but he was just so prolific in his aggro roles on M80 I struggle to see him putting up the same performances.

11:04 - people focus on roles more than they should but I'd make an exception for AWP and Anchor roles.
Thinking Grim during his time in Liquid, Nexa in G2 playing Anchor, when RPK retired and Vitality got two kids and neither of them could anchor at all etc...
The difference is some players are just more versatile. NAF/Magisk have played anchor roles on many maps across multiple lineups and people still don't regard them as anchor players.

been watching you for years and I've always wondered. Does anyone ever call you by the nickname of Richard and then Lewis? It flows pretty well haha. Its actually incredible Snax is still tier 1 and still playing but I believe he can do it. At his prime he was so fun to watch especially around smokes

After watching that final, I researched if G2s coach was Taz. Hadn't watched CS in a hot minute and G2s coach looked familiar.
Went down the rabbit hole to see where the old VP roster went and Snax was the first I checked and I found out he kind of fell off after that first decent run he had with them old dudes.
G2 is now the LA Lakers of CS it seems. Rather attempt to make money fast instead of signing someone who gives you the best chance to win long term.

As someone who didn't follow cs and only learned about the scene through your punditry, i kind of understand why everyone thinks you dont understand the game now (not saying i agree, just that i understand). This is the first time i really looked for other pundits opinions on the matter, and even Thorin and Maui's takes right next door is quite different than yours (especially on topics like jks and hooxi). I dont expect every experts opinion to be the same, but it does feel like you're on an island at times with your takes and emphasize completely different things (could just be a one off thing considering that this is my first foray into competitive cs). Granted i not nowhere near qualified to judge who is right or wrong, but just that i find it interesting.

What if they just signed Snax for this year and starting next year NiKo will IGL? Perfecto still doesn't have a Team, ofc its a very long shot but maybe he is learning English for now and gets signed down the road. Btw, thats some next level hopium from me as a G2 Fan.
Comparing Hooxi at the Major to the Fall in Paradise Lost may be my favorite Richard comment of the year thus far.
Why Snax? Why? Because he is the most underrated player in cs history (top 5 player 3 years in a row). He single-handedly carried Gamer Legion into tier-1 cs. He's by far the best fragging igl in the game. These stats-obsessed bots who don't even play the game have not idea what they're talking about.
I've always said It all boils down to if personalities can solve problems. Do I think the current mix could consistently deal with their problems? sure. Do I think that any player who joins liquid could get anything through the pachycephalosaurus skulls of the stable liquid players? Clearly not. Team dynamics are more important than the in game capabilities of individual players.
I am genuinely starting to believe NiKo got a Pirates of the Caribbean style curse by the gods for the way he treated karrigan in faze, and is now doomed to never have good and/or stable In-Game Leadership in any of his teams.
What u don't know is that snax was given the offer to join G2 like a year ago and he declined saying he wasn't ready for that yet. It was before him even joining GL.

role clashes at this point are pretty much a non-issue. these are T1 players who know the game in every facet and can easily swap to another role, as they understand what their teammates should be doing in those roles anyways. it's not like soccer players who are forced to literally have different distinct skillsets in order to play in different positions, it's cs. one random reddit found a role clash and it's been reposted 100 times with nothing of value said

@Lad98477 and who as an IGL would make that team look better? In situation that G2 is in ( they want to look for a cheaper option) who would be ideal IGL? I can only think about Glaive at this point. In dream scenario they should go for someone like Karrigan but we all know it wouldn't happen no matter what. Still even with Karrigan, niko and monesy would have to be on top of theie game dont you think ?
@georgbergsten6050 what do I mean ? What style of play have they played so far? If you look at what has Hooxi achieved with previous lineups it was more of a structural playstyle depending on setups. What I mean is more freedom for Niko and Monesy to do what they want and for Hunter and now malbsdm to be more of a support which i still don't think will happens as second one was not much of a support in m80.

Cs is a smoothbrain game that is just point and shoot laser bullets. No bullet velocity or drop based on projectile. Put any mil-sim gamer in a match with a cs player, cs player gets made a fool of.

Thats retarded, I grew on hit scan fps games and I can pick up any game with bullet drop and velocity. In fact those games are much easier because they are played by casuals and boomers while in cs even bad players sweat.
