RDLs are supposed to be halted below the knee so that the posterior chain has to decelerate the bar and pull with more intensity at the bottom to beat gravity.
It means that your upper back is rounding too much. It's a posture problem that you can get from sitting too much down in front of your computer/desk where you start to slouch instead of sitting upright. It is NOT a good thing. It will affect your ability to overhead press safely and a lot of other problems such as constant nagging pain (I am a bit kyphotic myself). Look yourself in the mirror from the side and see if you have it. If you do, it can be fixed.
It's also more commonly known as "hunchback". If you wanna learn more about what it is exactly, check out this article by Mike Robertson: "Neanderthal no more".
Hi i was just wondering i was looking at trying to buy some lifting straps but the ones that my friend got are really short so he cant use them properly. i was wondering are there any particaluar straps that you would advise buying?
is the longer-hair guy using some sort of special lifting straps? hes not gripping the bar whatsoever yet it doesnt look like the straps are tearing down his wrists as i would expect. pretty cool, anyone know what it is?
I like Thib but freshchoresh is right, it's because snatches chew up your hands. Maybe there is relief for the CNS, but it is not the reason weightlifters strap up for snatching
CT needs to share the vial and syringe with his smaller natural brethren. CT looks boss though, curious to know his doses to hold that condition year round
your comment makes no sense to what the conversation was about. You can round your upper back during deadlifting, the best deadlifters do it, it reduces the ROM for them to travel. and Im 99.99% sure that upper back is not in posterior chain
"even elite Olympic weightlifters still wear straps when doing snatches, it just reduces the amount of neural stress" they use straps because snatches kill the hands and straps relieve the grip strain, they don't want to wreck their hands when doing lots of snatches in training; nothing to do with neurology.
listening to christians voice i think he has a mucus problem...may be he should cut down on dairy...just an advice....u can do wateva d fuk u wanna do...
I watched this video just to gawk at all the eleiko equipment
Damn those spotless Eleiko plates are beautiful. But I bet their combined cost is more than that of some cars!
Really appreciate these videos, you are great. I copy everything you do and say, you got me looking and feeling right. Thanks.
That's the nicest set of weight lifting equipment I have ever seen.
Del Mar Apartments eleiko is the best and so expansive 😂
I really love the gym they use.
Damn... Shugart is kyphotic as hell.
I love Doc's Superman tattoo!
wow got all the motivation i need to deadlift with straps now
I know this is old, but my god I hope Chris has fixed that major kyphosis!
the new youtube design fits perfectly with your gym design
Posterior chain workout, with bicep curls of course!
helps you develop lockout strength. as you raise, it gets heavier as the chain comes off the ground.
RDLs are supposed to be halted below the knee so that the posterior chain has to decelerate the bar and pull with more intensity at the bottom to beat gravity.
that thing about the pelvis rotating from mixed grip deadlifts was interesting
They need to put more tags on these vids! Then way more people would see them in the search entries.
Anyone know how to go about correcting the pelivs after what christian said about the over under grip?

posterior chain includes the upper back
Why is Chris's upper back rounded doing deadlifts? Not sure what the fix is for this?

either way you can still round your upper back on the deadlift
doesnt matter as long as lumbar spine is straight (lower back)
what is the chain for?
CTs tan game is strong
They use a metal hook instead of the material that wraps around the bar.
What kind of shoes are those?
me too!
Why using stretch reflex in deadlift, every lift should start from 0
LoL, got to have a little something to boost the ego! lol
I'm pretty sure this guy has a PhD in working out
2:19 the other guy has a rounded back when doing the romanian deadlift.
I wish Vin Diesel was my trainer
Posterior Chain this, Posterior Chain that, with some curls half way through, haha.
A very tan Vin Diesel.

Daniel Singleton posterior is all your muscle behind you. Glutes, all your back, hams and calves
