I never thought that this song is bad. It reflects our current status as a first world country (Vibrant,clean,spontaneous ) rather than past years' NDP songs that were meant to focus on how we were progressing. Anyway, it takes a lot of effort to compose a song, so let's be appreciative! :)

After two years and watching this again, it is not that bad. Yet,I believe the song & MV is highly influenced by musicals like Glee & High School Musical (and at that time it was very buzzing). Yeah, it does not feel very patriotic, glorious, and triumphant like any national theme supposed to be, but this is very open and collaborative.
I mean, come on, where do you got a MV that combine rap, disco, Egyptian-esque choreography (that one hand-wave dance), vintage-look and choir in one song? This is epic!
Everyone who participates in this video will tell their children/grand-children someday like this: See, daddy/mommy/grandpa/grandma make the country proud by singing and dancing on TH-cam. Someday, you will become famous like this too. So, study hard. :-D

Yes, Singapore may be as small as a red dot from the looks of it, but look at what we've achieved over the years. We're in fact, developing at a faster rate than other countries, in terms of technology and infrastructures.
However, this also does not gives you the right to degrade us. The WW2 is indeed caused by Japan, and many older generation Singaporeans were forced to do labour, tortured, raped, and even brutally murdered. If we could forget something that's so painful to remember even till today, why couldn't you?
Bottom line, you should really think before you say. Singapore may look small, but we definitely have the best army of soldiers with all those I've mentioned above. If you haven't been to Singapore, then you probably should.
