What cool faction based general skills such as fast charge would have been awesome for the Iceni? Maybe a Woad Warrior general that added scare in an area for a while? Stealth ability that made it possible for units to have stalk for a time? I think Rome 2 would have been at a whole other level if CA had added cool abilities like that to all factions.
"Darken the skies" all archers/slings/pelts in vicinity get they're rate of fire increased by a lot, if used well can bite a section of an army out, if used wrong can run out of ammo really fast. I like your stealth idea, and the woad warrior one more tho Maybe a blood pool one where the enemy's fighting within the piles of the dead like 1/4 of the Unit slip and fall. Wouldn't work until a lot of units perish in a section. Maybe that would just be a cool thing that's not a Gen ability, I can imagine they'd lose footing more often than not in those situations
Thank you for the video! Heir: "I wish I had caught more of the chariots in action" Also Heir: Following these chariots for like 1-2 minutes watching them mow down slingers and infantry )
I feel like Suebi and Iceni are the two factions that CA should take exemples of for their next historical TW. Both are very unique and have 20+ different unique build for them with an abundance of tactical possibilities each.
I used to watch your videos faithfully as a young college kid while I learned the TW games on my old cheap gaming laptop. Now, 12 years later, i have a whole family, career and finally built me a worthy gaming PC. Nice to see your still going strong :)
Great video, and a really fascinating battle. I am fairly confident Sol was going a little crazy watching his beloved Suebi in this matchup. 😆 I think you were looking for Arverni, Boii and Nervii. 😁
I think historically at that time what was unique about the Brits was that they still used chariots but these tended to be not for charging into enemies but rather to move powerful units around the field to dismount and fight. A unique chariot morale boost might have been something that could have added a bit more flavor to the Iceni and maybe they could have had a bonus for dismounting?
Yeah, the chariots they had could not really handle mowing down people They could have made the chariot units into "special forces" Maybe make them really strong in stats and giving both fear and inspire Or maybe give them ability to switch between those two like Festus With dismounting of course Also different variants or the ability for the units to switch between a sword and a spear Hopefully Rome III will be a masterpiece that includes all the recent and newer innovation while bringing back all the advantages of older titles that had their own strong points
Ain't gonna lie what happened here was exactly what me and a few peeps were arguing for a few weeks back, which is that of course skirmishing is *incredibly* important, especially in high level games, but if you are clearly outmatched in the ranged department then surely you don't just dance around and allow yourself to get picked off. Get in there ASAP! If they wanna play the feinting game then well, that's why we bring MLG Freemen baby! All easier said than done but talking big with no credentials is what I'm about ;)
Hey Heir ! Like very much your videos! Thanx for still showing great Rome 2 battles! Where can I send u a replay from Rome 2 online battle ,think you will like it. If u like it you may post it if you decide. Cheers!
Great battle, but it was really fast. Almost too fast for Heir to keep up. The Iceni player, like Heir said, recongnized that time was not on their side and just went in. The Chariots from at least what I say really got into the flanks of the units and especially the slingers, got a volley off but it was too late.
One thing I don’t like about Iceni is that their units are basically the less cost effective version of the Celtic/Gallic counterparts. And there is not a single 2 handed sword unit in their roster

would a unit mass ability work? Maybe it could help with the chariots and make them absolute monster trucks at a demo derby.

How about we go back to NTW, where generals weren't magicians?
@@olanordmann2743 I wish to go back to those days too. I loved sniping enemy generals with my cannons.
Hello Heir , where can I send u some good Rome 2 1v1 battles . I will be very happy if u like some of them eventually. Cheers!
Thank you for the video!

I'd really hope they do take notes, though given CA's track record I wouldn't hold my breath on the next title.
They both feel like everything has a place while also not seeming over powered.
agreed.
Iceni need stonehenge warriors! Literal giant rocks of stonehenge being pulled across the field at the enemy!

What a brawl! Very witty tactic by the Iceni player with the all-in charge at the beginning there. Great fight to both players.
I have been watching your Rome 2 pvp for years and it always brightens my day. Much love friend.

Yes. Thanks.
keep up the work Heir :)

Really enjoyed this one. Iceni player played this well. Caught the suebi off gaurd with that timing attack and completely ruined their charge.

Yeah, one of the major things Rome 2 was lacking was faction divesity and replayability. These abilites would go a long way!

Fight for the children's the wheat fields or a better parking place.. your choice.
whatre you a chef now Heir? you said flavor at least 5 times
Wow. The Iceni out Suebied the Suebei!
These fields must have hidden gold deposits with how many battles have been fought on it on your channel
I been playing shogun 2 😆😂
i really enjoy the overall tactic of the iceni player. just overwhelm your enemy and give them no room to breath or manuever
Hey heir, how can I send you videos of Rome 2?
I am not very good but there’s some entertaining battles if you want/need more rome 2 gameplay
how do ppl play this online i keep getting desync issues all the time

What map is this?
General abilites sucked, way too much magic.
