I was away in Germany in the Army for Desert Storm. Away from everyone I knew except my dream guy, who I met during deployment - he had this soundtrack and we listened to it over and over. I still haven’t seen the movie but the songs had a profound impact on me. I’ll never forget - like yesterday.

The chemistry between Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman is undeniable in this movie. I saw them both at the Mirage casino Las Vegas in June 1990 just after they finished filming Days of Thunder and could see that they were so in love.

Man this brings back memories. Memories of my college days in Reno, Nevada. I was dating this girl who I called "Angel Hair". Beautiful, smooth blonde hair. She had pet turtles all over her house. I just woke from an extremely vivid dream where this song was in my head.. in the dream. I have ONLY heard the portion that's in Days of Thunder. Have no idea why but my subconscious has a tendency to dole out music on a whim in my dreams. Most of the time the lyrics from these songs are exactly what I need to hear.
