Straight up, you're the bloke that inspired me to get into audio production during all the lockdowns. Something I never really thought I'd be capable of as a humble bass man. Now a few years in, finally a member of the Kult and loving everything I don't think I'll win, but I wanted to say thanks and Dängle Dängle Ps. My Grandma sends her regards
Cool to see the behind the scenes, there's a lot that goes into these mics. Austrian Audio going the extra mile on testing and QA is really great to see as well especially given how much a good condenser mic is!
Hi Kohle, Matt from Lima, Peru I got the Austrian oc18 and it will arrive soon. I dare say that I am one of the first in my country to get this microphone and all thanks to the fact that you show them in your videos. Thank you for showing us such good microphones and very valuable content.
I got the OC818 recently and it's a my favorite mic for sure. Thank you for letting us peak into the process! Having an OC18 means a matched pair and that would be extremely useful for drums!
I’ve been following you since your sessions with the URM Academy and it’s always a pleasure to keep following your journey and making us discover some wonders like these mics! Thank you buddy for what you do !
appreciate the detail and explanation you give in your videos. you simplify the material to make it usable for everyone. thanks again. and yes...the microphone would be quite handy to have.
I haven't had the chance to work with an Austrian audio mic, but I know I will love it! No, I love you, man! I have been learning a lot inside the KVLT and improving my mixing skills. You are the man!
It is always a pleasure to watch such techy (nerdy) stuff about hardware - How it's made - love it. The process looks much simpler than it is maybe because we are looking at a professional staff and company such as Austrian Audio. Next stop Lewitt maybe?
I love that one person assembled the whole mic. I’m trying to build up my mic collection now, but have never tried an Austrian Audio. This reminds me of the segment in “Mr. Rogers” where he would show you how things were made. Maybe Kristian could be the next Mr. Rogers.
I'm already subscribed to the email, already a Kult member, already love Austrian Audio mics, so no need to remind you that I already love you Kohle. 💌🤘
Thank you! Truly enjoyed this. It was like watching "How Its Made" 🙂 Good to see the craftsmanship that goes into these microphones. Very curious how they sound on my vocals and instruments. Cheers!
Very interesting, did not know that the membrane can be tuned, but makes total sense. I own an old AKG, I bought once to mic my classical guitar. Now I switched to electric. Who knows, maybe the OC18 will replace my mic and I will try playing classical again... would love it! Thanks for sharing
I've been needing a good microphone for a while, always looking at Austrian audio, but the money unfortunately ain't there, best of luck to everybody else.
I love my old austrian era AKG mics and am considering these. I liked the OC16 well enough but need something quieter (for documentary film voiceover) so this is excellent. Tuning is like a reverse IR, awesome.
i have a microphone wishlist… now. thanks Kristian. it was actually quite fun and entertaining learning how valuable they are in the signal chain from the Kohle Audio Kult yt channel!
Very interesting getting the behind-the-scenes look at their microphone builds. I’d love to have an Austrian Audio mic. The quality looks superb. Cheers 🤘🏽😈🤘🏽
One of the few videos on this channel you could *actually* send to your grandma as Kohle keeps suggesting, as the topic of how things are built is just universally interesting for some reason even if you don't understand some of the jargon. I actually think if you do something like this again in the future you may want to take brief moments to explain things like what a "cardioid polar pattern is" because these types of videos may actually have a slightly broader reach than just guitar/studio people. Or maybe I'm wrong and not everyone is obsessed with shows like How It's Made, idk.
i was told there would be Schnitzel ? we just got the best version of "How it's made"; an english-speaking german guy in Austria ! have you considered narrating others like this ? very soothing voice. Grandma likes.
Awesome video! I love seeing how microphones are made and I'm impressed with the careful attention to detail on the diaphragm tuning and triple anechoic chamber tests on each mic! Where do they machine the brass, is it in house? Thanks for all the awesome content btw!
Apart from sounding great in all the videos I see about them, those mics look really cool, I still haven´t tried one first hand but I hope to be able too at some point!
Hi Kristian! I appreciate all the wisdom that You share with us, I've learned A LOT from you and I'm looking forward to become a member of the Kult.🤘 I would love to get the OC18, right now I'm starting to put together a (hopefully😅) great home studio and it would be amazing to get that mic. Greetings from Peru!🤘🤘
My OC818 was in tears watching Jenny again from its childhood. Thank you Jenny!!
Straight up, you're the bloke that inspired me to get into audio production during all the lockdowns. Something I never really thought I'd be capable of as a humble bass man. Now a few years in, finally a member of the Kult and loving everything
I don't think I'll win, but I wanted to say thanks and Dängle Dängle
Ps. My Grandma sends her regards
Now I know, why they sound so good. No robots or automatons in sight, just pure handwork. ♥
The best Sendung mit der Maus episode ever, love this style. Also a great mic. It's real nice to see how much care and thought goes into this tech.
What a hypnotically enjoyable watch. Been dreaming of an OC818 for years, now even more so.
Knowing how those microphones are built is at the core of audio recording. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Always fascinating to see the attention to detail that goes into making awesome mics!
For me the OC18 (and especially the OC818) is THE all-in-one solution, you can't have enough of them. Very cool video by the way!
Been looking at this mic for a while now. Love to see how it's made. Great job and thank you!
Watching professionals make masterpieces is always enlightening, I have a feeling that a OC18 would kick my little AT2020 all around the room.
I already have four Austrian Audio mics, but certainly wouldn't mind another! Some of the best mics made today.
Everything AA makes is exceptional.
Cool to see the behind the scenes, there's a lot that goes into these mics. Austrian Audio going the extra mile on testing and QA is really great to see as well especially given how much a good condenser mic is!

great insight into the process! I was suprised to see so much manual labor and testing involved into making just one mic. Incredible!
I love these gear breakdowns
Always dropping some of the most informative content. Really shows how much you want to give back to the community
Wow! What an interesting process. Making mics is amazing. And those people are geniuses.
Thanks for the opportunity! Just knowing that sneap and richardson use the oc818 is enough of a quality check for me
Gut gemacht, Kristian! Sehr dynamisch - genau wie deine andere videos, und höchste qualität. Bitte weiter machen...
Wow, it’s been a while since then. Too bad URM have removed my old videos
Another Great video from Kristian.... Great Mic too...
appreciate the detail and explanation you give in your videos. you simplify the material to make it usable for everyone. thanks again. and yes...the microphone would be quite handy to have.
As a black metal guitarist its fun to say "i love you so much, Kristian", but its true)
As a death metal bassist, love you mate
You're right, it is fun :)
Love this kind of videos! The production facilities and seeing the components, the process, and the people behind the product. Noice! 🤘
I am so amazed by theye microphones. Just got a OC16 which is already great, but having an OC18 would be a blast.
I haven't had the chance to work with an Austrian audio mic, but I know I will love it! No, I love you, man! I have been learning a lot inside the KVLT and improving my mixing skills. You are the man!
Kohles Sendung mit der Maus 😂😂👍👍
(Hiermit bewerbe ich mich für diesen wunderschönen akustischen Wandler) Liebe geht raus ❤
Thank you, Kristian, for the value you provide. Love you, and I would definitely love to win that mic! :)
I honestly want to see more videos like this, I learn a lot of the how/what/why
Fascinating!
Love these behind the scenes look at how it's done
For me this is one of the best mics out there. Really great content, I love seeing how things are done under the hood
One of best sounding mics on a market

That's a cool mic, after seen that amazing manufacture process is even more cool, really mesmerizing
Die Sendung mit der Maus would be proud, but I love the OC18 even more than Maus, Elefant and Ente ever could
I love that one person assembled the whole mic. I’m trying to build up my mic collection now, but have never tried an Austrian Audio. This reminds me of the segment in “Mr. Rogers” where he would show you how things were made. Maybe Kristian could be the next Mr. Rogers.
I love seeing how the schnitzel is made, great video. Even if I don’t win, I’ll be getting an OC16 when I can, these guys make great mic’s.
Kristian, why does this reminds me so much of “Die Sendung mit der Maus” ? 🐭
Great video 🤘🏻
