Awesome ! "Shipki" is a village in Ngari,Tibet and "La" in Tibetan means a Pass, Hilltop/peak. Shipki La acts as a border between Tibet and India. My parents are from a village "2-3 days walk" from Shipki and crossed Shipki La when they were forced to flee Tibet due to Chinese invasion. Most of the Tibetans from Shipki are settled in Mundgod Tibetan Resettlement, Karnataka State, and few in Shimla. Kinnaur and Spiti have lots of connection to Ngari, western Tibet.

There is small room beside that gue monastery where the actual mummy was preserved. The one you went was newly constructed monastery and the mummy yet to be moved into that new Monastery.
