Windermere is the best area in Edmonton - period. It is not only about the housing options, but it is extremely safe and has all the retail and commercial amenities you need. You literally do not have to leave Windermere for anything. Doctors, blood work, groceries, restaurants it has everything!
Lol except for the Henday backup most mornings evenings in the winter. Not to mention the same on Terwillegar. Sherwood Park is the best hands down. 5 ways in and out of the city, never any traffic no crime. Most people are born here in Canada.😉😉
@@dmka12 1) Windermere has zero crime. This information is available on the city if Edmonton website. It is probably the safest area in Edmonton (literally) 2) They are doubling the size of Terwillegar and basically turning it into a highway. Why? Because everyone wants to be here 3) The area is diverse - if you want to live in an all white area yes move to Sherwood P. But you gotta leave the area for anything exciting. But if you want to live in an area where you have abundant shopping and restaurants - move to Windermere. 4) There are way more housing options - from 600k homes up to 10 million. People would not buy massive estate homes if there was crime 5) Windermere has river valley access and 10 times more parks 6) Windermere is 15 min away from the airport. 7) Driving into Sherwood is unsightly. You will basically see industrial plants before you drive into the area adjacent to the henday - driving into Windermere is visually appealing. There is no industrial area anywhere CLOSE to Windermere
I would disagree. Magrath is a much better location. It’s a 5 minute drive to Windermere plus all the amenities you need as well. It’s quick drive to Whitemud. One really important thing is inside the Henday. Windermere is outside the henday and commute is brutal as there are only 2 paths in. Terwilligar drive and rabbit hill road is brutal during peak hours and has to service all the communities AND growing south of Henday. Traffic was brutal 5 years ago and is only worse now and getting worse.
My twin sons live in the Windermere area. I visit them often and hope to move to Edmonton in the not too distant future. Moved from Montreal to Peace River, big, big change. So Edmonton is the best choice!
Glenora/Grovenor/Westmount would be my choice for areas. Right in the middle of everything. Close to Downtown, West Edmonton Mall, Universities, etc. Very central.
Just moved out of Westmount in October, crime was getting out of hand. House broken into while we were home sleeping, year later garage broken into and cleared out, degenerates moving through the alley constantly…had had enough. Moved to Parkview. Much better though I do miss the walkability of being right off 124th ST.
Great work but ,you came close all the way to hamptons but you missed "Hawks ridge" area with its natural beauty, zero crimes, quite, great investment for the value due to its proximity to loishole centennial provincial park also , "trumpter", "sterling"and "kinglet".
Amazing work, thank you. However, I did some google search and didn't detached houses in the price ranges you gave. Mostly all more expensive, and very few listings in the communities cited. Does this mean they aren't listed on real estate sites?
This video is like... reminding myself warren buffet quote...be selfish when all are scared be scared when others are selfish ... Edmonton is the "STOCK" to invest ..NOT to live .. there's a difference..sow a seed now ...n WAIT...youll have fruitful life for sure ❤
Nah, just another suburb with a homemade lake for 400 dollars per year. Close to south common is nice but that's about it. Also lots of traffic. My family member lives there so I'm there all the time.
Good video but only half story is being told here. I think people should be aware what's going on in this city. Property taxes just been increased by 10%, crime rate is higher than ever with lots of shooting everywhere. Unemployment rate is creeping up. Whenever oil price crash there has been big recession in Alberta. There's a reason why house prices has been so low for so long. Thank you!
The taxes are crippling, I pay 440.00 a month in property tax, ours is your usual 3 bedroom 2.5 bath two story, attached garage house in the west end suburbs, 🤬
Capolino and Goldbar used to be good areas until they built a homeless shelter next to a children's playground and skatepark..... now there's bums doing drugs and stealing from properties on a daily basis. Great planning as always Edmonton!!
Honestly there are no good neighborhoods in Edmonton. The city is too cold and the crime is out of control. The only thing going for Edmonton is the Oilers!
What a ridiculous thing to say. 😂. There's some great neighborhoods much cheaper than many cities. The weather is not great but not as bad as it's made out. Canada is Canada
I lived in Australia for 5 years, and traded it in for Canada. One is way too hot to work in, the other is cold, but you can dress up for the cold and homes are warm and cozy, therefore, no complaints.
@@westerlywinds5684 A couple years ago it hit +44 on my deck. Never experienced that kind of heat.,and I handle heat well. But that was crazy! Like a hot hairdryer in your face! And I then realized dealing with cold is easier. Can't take off your skin and walk around in your bones.
@@gp7910 I assume you live down under? I lived there but working in that heat is unbearable. The paint dries right on the brush and you can only do it in the evening or early morning. Midday is a no go. 😅
Stop moving to Edmonton, go to Calgary ... I've lived here all my life , and its bad, more expensive than Toronto, loaf of bread cost 8$ , because gas is super expensive, most expensive in Canada. Trust me Calgary is the way to go. Good luck

@dmka12 what does it matter if they're born in Canada? Are you born in Canada because Canada rejects racists

SW Edmonton area is really nice for single family detached homes. Prices are slightly higher than some other areas in Edmonton but it is worth it.
So true!!!
Please apart from Windermere, which other communities do they have in the SW?
Nice to know it’s actually possible to have a house on the Hamptons!😎

Peace river wow , beautiful area
Edmonton doesn’t hate Calgary. Most of us love Calgary, cause we lived there at some point. 💙
They’re both awesome cities.
Edmonton is a great city! Both Calgary and Edmonton along with so many other towns/cities make Alberta so great! 🙌🙌

I agree. But check out the Opinion section in today’s Edmonton Journal. It will leave you in shock,
What did it say?

I grew up in that neighborhood. North Glenora is a fantastic neighborhood, best for families.

I think where you come first is where your heart sticks. Like myself cannot think of moving out of south west.
Edmonton, the best area cast down
My family used to live in the summerside community. it is gorgeous.

Nothing is beautiful About Edmonton. Its just cheaper To live thats it Thats why everyones moving there.

Settle in small communities in Alberta

South side is nice
Edmonton is great...however, it lacks good jobs...with a 7%+ unemployment and a declining downtown...

"lots of kids running around, which is great" ☠ best way of get me to not buy in a neighborhood.
😂 now you know where to not buy 🙌
Mosy if these areas are the souless boring pits thatvpeople seem to like. Many great central neighborhoods are much better

The most boring and cold place on Earth.
You're a loser to say that b.s

Typical Calgarian suggesting boring suburbds because thats what Calgary mostly is thata all you know.
What would you suggest? What’s missing in this list?
Pembeeena... LoL.
Alberta is terrible, please go to Ontario and BC everyone. Leave us alone here :D
😂 🤔
