Kevin's stroke wasn't too serious but it still prohibited him from walking without the support of his crutches due to the fact that some cells in his brain were harmed during his stroke which ultimately 'stops' his brain from sending messages to his legs telling them to work like they should.
I thought it was a bit much when he slapped her head, I heard teachers are only allowed to restrain which is what they do if pupils fight. They're not allowed to hit them, grab them aggressively etc.
