    Another great adventure CJ. Glad it was a nicer day, and you still got some biking in. Can't wait to see day 3.

    Just found your videos. 👍 I’ve done the trip from Beaverton to Fenelon Falls, but in a 15’ boat with a 25 on it, hehe. Just an overnight trip. I camped at Rosedale. It was very quiet, I was the only one there the night I stayed. That island park where you ate dinner was where I tied my boat to a tree, as there was absolutely no dock space on the evening I went to explore the town!

    Brings back memories. I boated through that area 2 or 3 times as a kid (on no more than a crappo outboard). Fenelon Falls, Kirkfield...will never forget those names :-}

    I am enjoying your trip via canoe. I just completed the Trent Severn this Aug via solar electric boat. Both craft will allow for the pleasant experience of traveling with just the waves lapping at the hull. I also stayed in Fenelon Falls and enjoyed the town.

    Chris, I really enjoyed this Fenelon Falls tour. My mother and father and their four boys rented a cottage on Cameron Lake for years. It was north of downtown but close enough we could walk along the old rail line to get Kawartha Lakes ice cream cones from a dairy near the canal.
    Thanks for the good memories!

    Nice change of pace. While I’ve done some canoe trips, none have been as ambitious as this. On some of my longer trips, I’ve used a kayak paddle. It seemed more efficient to me. Anyway, I’m enjoying this series and look forward to the next installment. Be safe...

    Great video. I’ve never had Thai tuna and may have to look for it at the store! The Thai takeout dinner looked satisfying!

      Thanks. This was actually my first time eating that kind of Tuna and it was pretty good. I've really liked Thai food for quite a long time!

    Another awesome video Chris! By the way, I cannot wait for the video where you go to Rice Lake and Seymour Lake, because I've actually been on Seymour Lake once, as well as Healey Falls because there is a lock station at Healey Falls, in which I have a friend whose cottage is near there! Cannot wait for that video to come! And also, cannot wait for part 3!

    Can't believe the lack of other traffic? You might be finished with the bike CJ!

      Ya, not a lot of other boats on the water, especially early in the morning!

    Your an animal! Subscribed! I will be doing the same trip from Queensville side road to Stoney lake next season in my Hobie outback. Home to cottage. Great videos. Thank you. I think I would have a difficult time leaving my stuff though or have in a ton of people around my tent...things I would have not considered. I really look forward to your next one.

      Wow that sounds awesome! So cool that there is water connecting your home and your cottage. Yes for sure it's something to keep in mind. I suspect that little patch of ground is a lot less busy on weekdays that it was when I visited on a Sunday. Thanks!

    Just visited Fenelon Falls in Aug for the first time. Lovely place. Drove over 4 hours to pick up an item at that Home Hardware (Nancy, one of the owners, is the most genuinely sweet person!) Would love to do a portion of the TSW in my kayak once I develop some stronger skills!

    Another interesting video. Good job.
    Yeah that camping situation definitely leaves something to be desired lol. Too bad you couldn't set up on the other side.
    For a bit of refrigeration, maybe you could attach a waterproof bag to your canoe and submerge it in the water? I don't know if this would add too much drag while you're paddling or even stay submerged enough to be effective but just a thought.

      I had a feeling that the camping would get better the further into the trip I got, because the places would eventually get smaller and less touristy.
      The water in these lakes was actually quite warm.

      @@cjhoyle It looks like you had a really fun time in any case and it's great to be out camping. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip.

    0:04 - How late did the generator run?

    • @cjhoyle
      @cjhoyle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I recall, they turned it off shortly after I lay down to sleep. I later learned that the Trent-Severn Waterway has a Generator Policy and people are allowed to run them until 10pm. The owner of this generator followed the rule (not that Parks Canada really enforces it).
