Never apologise ;) Primarily do what you want, you will find your audience or your audience finds you. I love Porcupine Tree so I am fine with it! Lol.
I like your channel. When I first heard PT back in 95 live show. I was not paying attention. Then in 2005 I saw them again with my neighbor who had an extra ticket. Reluctantly I went. Now I was a drummer. Had bands in the 70's .So when PY comes on within around 45 seconds I said to my friend "these guys get it". They were the most incredible band that I've seen in a long time. When I got home my neighbor gave me a lot of PT discs I copied. Now I own almost everything they recorded. And I morphed after the break up into A Steven Wilson fan his solo stuff is just as good. So just do you . And thanks for representing PT as a drunmmer yourself.
Totally agree with Roy. For me PT is the pinnacle to which all other bands aspire. I tune in because I value and enjoy the input. Isn't that the point - tune in to enjoy ! Please don't stop reacting to PT - there are so many more great pieces to cover - suggest a couple of studio pieces - Remember me Lover and Always Never. Live performances - Way Out of Here, Lets Sleep Together.
Russia on ice. Been there, when my first wife split went with my friend. Then came back 6months later and snatched my 18m/old daughter so she could get a sort council apartment. And I tried to drink myself to death, and lots of drugs. I eventually stopped my excess and met a girl who years later ànd 2 children became my wife. Only for Epilepsy and Bipolar to ruin it. I now live alone nearly 70,,so Russia on Ice I can relate 2. Jon. Best from UK
I guess akot if people consider this Steve Wilson & his Genius .is Dark Perhaps another way if looking at tmut is That us Something DEEP DEEO IN HIM HIS MUSIC BUT THE POWER IF OTHER MUSICIANS HAVING THE PRECISE BRAIN LENGTHS HOLLY CRAP! THANK YOU STEVE FOR SHARING IT WITH US!!!
I would actually love for you to check some of Archive stuff. I mean my dream team to see would be Archive and Porcupine Tree live. And NEVER APOLOGISE for what you love!!! Russia on ice os my top three btw. Propably sits at numer 2 right now hehehe
Your show, we can choose to jump in the car with you, or sit on the curb and wait for another ride. More PT suggestions: Strip the Soul, Don't Hate Me, Fear of a Blank Planet. To try some other progressive stuff, I would suggest Close to the Edge by Yes and Supper's Ready by Genesis (studio versions best for both).
Hiya. I'm sure you all know Gary Clark Jr. I just watched a film from Rolling Stone Gary and Eve: How Gary Clark Jr. Learned to Play copy and paste in search above.
This song took me few tries to get it click, but now it is among with the other great PT songs. I would like to suggets two songs from two bands. First, from their 2011 album "Heritage" (Steven Wilson was working as mixer, vocal and effects engineer on that one). First song (first track is an instrumental) of the album: Opeth - The Devil's Orchard - th-cam.com/video/G1pi7Dn87mY/w-d-xo.html For me, that is the first ever Opeth album (plz OG Opeth fans, be gentle!) but for many old fans that was the beginning of the end, or the end itself. The second is kind of a drop in the deeeeeep end, but you've seen PT's Anesthetize so you'll do fine. This is the final song of their 2011 album "Visions" (again 2011, good year for ProgRock?) Haken - Visions (l-1ve) - th-cam.com/video/MB0D4CywHyU/w-d-xo.html I was supposed to see them in Budapest in Feburary but they cancelled .. or "postponed" into infinity. :(
PT is just fine (no phenomenal actually) and I'm sure things will lead to other great artists. No apologies needed for me. Also, do you notice a little Pink Floyd/David Gilmore influence in this one! This is an older PT song and different than later recordings and style.
I believe the other side if that is.Steve has given up on really everything to giving you his Genius. . . So yes it could be Alcohol Or maybe Alcohol is his Music Or Music is his Alcohol!?!
I made a porcupine pot pie really good stuff
Never apologise ;) Primarily do what you want, you will find your audience or your audience finds you. I love Porcupine Tree so I am fine with it! Lol.
Me too and Steven Wilson solo 😉
Me too :)
one of the best songs of porcupine tree, at minute 9:09 the cello is my absolute favourite moment in this song, it gives me goosebumps everytime.

Agree totally on your comments. I would recommend "Way Out of Here" also. Live version in Tilberg I think.
Nah. Karnivool is better. Greatest band on the planet by far.
That unusual bass sound by Colin is a Moroccan instrument called a Sintir or Guembri. It's a 3 stringed plucked instrument, if you're interested 😀
SWEET!
