True, though (and maybe I’m biased because) but a lot of us in the black community have been trying to talk about how weird Drake’s always seemed with kids but not a lot of people were willing to hear that. So when I heard all of the pedo allegations in this track, it disgusted/disturbed me, but it didn’t surprise me all that much knowing what I already knew. But as soon as Kendrick implied Drake has a DAUGHTER specifically, my heart definitely dropped. A secret kid is already kinda surprising, but for her to be a little girl absolutely scares me.

I don't expect the DV allegations to come to anything, Drake did exactly what Kendrick said he would in Euphoria - misinterpret Mr. Morale. And these things don't happen once, and yet not one ex GF or one night stand has ever said anything. The allegations directed specifically at Drake are what we already know, that he likes women at an age where they can be manipulated. He didn't actually call him a nonce, just said he associated with at least one. By now we've all heard about Baka and Akademiks, which establishes much of the rest of the allegations, except for the actual guy who "should be placed on neighbourhood watch" and I doubt Kendrick has hard evidence (if he does, sitting on it is heinous) but I'm inclined to believe he's heard of it from a source he considers reliable. Partially because there's a definite stink about that camp, he wasn't lying about that and partly because how careful he was in wording the allegations against Drake himself.

I must say, this is arguably one of the best analysis of this battle as it relates to the context and timing of the diss tracks. It's also why I think that in the grand scheme of things the diss tracks from Kendrick will ultimately age gracefully. People will think back to these events and the lyrical content of those records will hit harder as they begin to actually see how they line up with each event that occurred throughout the timeframe. It will give more credence to just how calculated Kendrick actually was and just how much self awareness Drake lacks.

The allegations directed specifically at Drake are what we already know, that he likes women at an age where they can be manipulated. He didn't actually call him a nonce, just said he associated with at least one.
By now we've all heard about Baka and Akademiks, which establishes much of the rest of the allegations, except for the actual guy who "should be placed on neighbourhood watch" and I doubt Kendrick has hard evidence (if he does, sitting on it is heinous) but I'm inclined to believe he's heard of it from a source he considers reliable. Partially because there's a definite stink about that camp, he wasn't lying about that and partly because how careful he was in wording the allegations against Drake himself.
@@DanGolag yeah I’m pretty sure the allegations won’t come to anything as well. It took r Kelly years to face any consequences and that was after his career had died and he was broke. Drake is far from either if we’re being honest. I think your response was one of the most honest and unbiased I’ve seen in this whole mess. That being said, allegations aside I still think Kendrick won. Even if nothing comes of the allegations, Kendrick did leave a mark on drakes career, but I’m sure he’ll be just fine. Diddy is another one that most likely won’t face any consequences.

Kendrick figured he could use this moment, all the hype of Drake's first American tour in 5 years, the creation of that single, Cole & Drake being commercially tied together... to "peel back the layers." he decided this was the perfect opportunity to expose the trafficking, the predation, the circles that he seems to be saying Drake is running in and this is the way it would get the most publicity.
so he joined the Like That track. he prepared some pushes, secured his moles in OVO, and started getting his protection against these much larger and more sinister powers in these trafficking rings.
honestly, it's probably the safety of his family & loved ones that's the reason for any of his delays, his timing on releases. something no reactors or anybody on Genius seems to be highlighting is that Kendrick repeating "Crodie" isn't just a diss to Toronto, Drake, and Drake's cat... but affirming, maybe, that he's made connections or truces with the Crips of his own town, Compton, in preparation for this. it would be easy to say Kendrick was killed by a Crip for gang reasons give his Blood ties, and we'd have a 2Pac scenario all over again
in terms of getting people talking about it, he even masterfully planned it with the Euphoria release on Tuesday knowing (via moles) Drake was waiting to have a full music video that would launch on Friday -- the biggest day for dropping music.
then Kendrick released 6:16 knowing he had Meet The Grahams in his back pocket -- KNOWING Drake was gonna drop Family Matters and KNOWING 3 diss tracks in one day would create more hype than anything else could.
beyond hype, it didn't give people time to make edited videos. to sit with the production if they wanted to stay with the wave. like this stream, it had to be done live cuz it was so late at night, creators had just polished off their Drake/Family Matters videos, and the only way to stay relevant was to post super quick or live stream. so everybody got the allegations live. true human responses, a lot of "reactors" no longer reacting, but just brought back to their humanity and made real on camera.
add into that the photo of Drake's belongings and claims of there being a mole, he sowed insane amounts of distrust within OVO while pointing the lens right at them for these alleged crimes.
i might even guess these crimes, if true, have been multiplied in their number or increased in their heinousness since Drake was paid that $400M record deal. that could be in part to his own desire to spend/make money even if it's dirty OR as part of the record deal itself. either is terrifying, and seems possible.

I must say, this is arguably one of the best analysis of this battle as it relates to the context and timing of the diss tracks. It's also why I think that in the grand scheme of things the diss tracks from Kendrick will ultimately age gracefully. People will think back to these events and the lyrical content of those records will hit harder as they begin to actually see how they line up with each event that occurred throughout the timeframe. It will give more credence to just how calculated Kendrick actually was and just how much self awareness Drake lacks.
