So that fast speed mixed without everyone accelerated bunnyhopping and tau jumping with super low frame rates and latency meant even more chaos.
The fun part about it is that is not even a full server XD I played a server with 32 people in it and it was peak madness, but it was great. Been playing one match a day since the update, trying to make the most out of the current playerbase while it last.
The days when you had maximum fun whether you won, lost, killed or died, the whole journey was a barrel of laughs anyway. I wish that whenever games were designed this way nowadays, they didn't just die 2 months after launch because people are obsessed with progression and battle passes.
I played plenty of Half-Life Deathmatch long before the update. I was trying to look for servers to play on that had players, and I ended up finding a few favorites. But yeah, most of the players, if not all, were just bots (one of the servers would only be filling with actual people once a week) and I did want to see what maps they had so I felt they were enjoyable. When the update came I went on looking for more servers to play on and one of them had a whole bunch of players and it was mad crazy in there. I only felt like it was a true multiplayer experience that time.
I like how in the midst of all this chaos, while your character moves at 80km/h, he reloads the pistol with the same enthusiasm and energy as me picking up the toothpaste in the morning just after waking up.
Every single weapon in Half Life has its place and that's what's so awesome. Someone with a crowbar relentlessly chasing you can be very intimidating in close quarters even if you have one of the more powerful weapons
