I've had a lot of fun with the Night Eagle HD with the Runcam Link digital camera. A simple IR illuminator board weighs about 25 grams with a mount and cost about $5 if you really want to light things up. I just stick it to the top of my battery.
I bought the 03 ultra and it doesn't overheat instantly because it only goes to full power upon arm. I fitted this to a custom 2.5 inch 6s toothpick and its much lighter and totally practical. I was concerned about leaving it hot for a while after crash but even then I let it cool and it worked just fine. I'd definitely purchase again.

Great video, I love these product round ups helps me make decisions on purchasing stuff. Just worth mentioning you said on the toolkit RCQ6 charger that all 4 channels have XT 30 and 60 connectors but I believe it’s only channels 1 and 4 (the two on the sides) that have that option. Forgive me if I’m wrong. Thanks again for all the great content.
Awesome Episode, it definitely had products that I didn't know about. Where was the WS moonlight 4k review?? What do you think about the DJI goggles 3 maybe having front facing cameras?
JB, what I’ve done is use the motor protectors and I tape them up so they won’t shatter and damage the motor wires also keeping tape adhesive off the motor wires for when I went to remove them. 😉
I dig this type of video I've said it before nothing wrong with showcasing what's new in FPV just make sure you get a broad assortment of gear not just main stream manufacturing keep up the good work 🍻
The new product roundup is back! I really enjoyed this one! I've gotta look into getting the Night Eagle HD, being able to fly at night with DJI sounds awesome.
Valid point on those motor wire "protectors" if we are talking about regular-size quads. I've left mine on because I'm lazy but I've wrapped thick fabric tape around them to hopefully help out a bit. When it comes to smaller quads though they do actually work for that. I have a sub250 3.5" with that style of protector and have had numerous prop strikes on the arms from hard crashes and they still have held up. I guess when the prop is so thin and light it mostly just bends out of the way as opposed to a 5in prop which is quite rigid...
Taking my flying style in mind, the mobula 8 hd(i threw a vista in mine) flys fantastic. Perfectly servicable outdoors and a hoot indoors. Outdoors I can fly it over my full 10 acres with no issues. 4 minute flight time with rdq 550 2s. Would recommend to anyone. I run a polar nano and just bought another to run an OG vista.
I've crashed so bad I bent my o3 units boards, both of them and smashed the USB port and SD card slot I stripped it naked and bent it back the best I could and it still works perfectly.
I learned on a Mob8+O3 and a Meteor75. The Mob8+O3 is a bit of a boat to fly (you use a ton of throttle to catch a split-s), but it was fun to learn on, although I probably learned more on the the Meteor75. I still enjoy the Mob8, but I built into a Bee35Pro frame (with O3) and love it - it's my daily driver at the moment.
I never imagined Utah being compared to a drone, especially by Josh Bardwell. I am from the Salt Lake area and that bit about the settlers was so random and funny! I just need to point out that Salt Lake City is on the west edge of the Rocky Mountains so they crossed all the way through the mountains and then decided to stop. But still a funny comparison!
As JD mentioned racewire is great… and so are MR30 connectors. Both also make swapping arms and motors easier. For a little extra/more traditional protection, either use the old school taped on prop blade method or the fancy zip tied 3D prints that all the cool kids seem to be running to protect their arms as of late. Personally I use racewire 90% of the time, and I might tape a prop blade on top of it, if I’m doing practice on a sketchy line. As it does seem to help it survive when you smack the racewire directly into a metal pole or concrete corner.
I have small hands and I pinch, I use a radiomaster tx12 as my first controller, any recommendations for an upgrade? Something more ergonomic for my smallhands and with best gimbals?
I pinch and have a 8.75” palm circumstance (basically right in the middle range of an L sized glove) with normal length fingers, but a little more muscular than average. Jumper T-lite with RadioMaster gimbals is my favourite small, carry everywhere with me, radio. Remove the 2 bottom switches and your middle fingers rest perfectly in the dimples while pinching. Or print/make some “gas pedals” that will fit in/over the holes from the switches. I also use a momentary push button for arm + turtle for sub second recovery from small crashes. I did use the Zorro for my small radio for a few months, before I switched back to the T-Lite. I can’t stand the Pocket and it’s gimbals and sticks personally (maybe my hands are too big?), but the Boxer is not bad (but I wouldn’t like it if I had small hands). Unless I’m sitting and it’s in my lap or something… that’s actually what the Boxer is really good at. Otherwise when not gorilla flying, I have a custom radio that I made from wood veneer and forged carbon, it’s similar in shape to the Jumper T-20, but a bit smaller, and molded for my hands and flying posture. It holds 6 18650 batteries so I can also run my goggles from it. Hardware wise: it uses the main board from my T-Lite V1, the radio board from a RadioMaster module, and RadioMaster’s full size CNC gimbals. I was sick and tired of every radio feeling shit in my hands so just made my own. Since it’s made with scrap/extra materials and hardware all it cost me is time. But honestly the moded T-Lite is a very close second. Zorro is just a different shaped TX12 basically, but I still prefer it. And for smaller hands, I wouldn’t choose the Boxer unless you always sit with the radio in your lap. Best thing is just to find some local people or shop and try for yourself.
@@lemonsquareFPV great! thanks for the info and advice, I think there is so much room to improve ergonomics in the actual radio controllers specially for us the pinchers, hope the industry take a look into this to solve the problem of just having a simple box and make some money doing it , why not. Nothing fits like the skyzones. I’m in my 4th different foam to try and get the goggles x to fit as nicely as sky04x

I'd love to get the skyzone pro's to go with my WS VRX, but basically just for the newer screens, currently using hdo2, but the pro's are just too insanely priced, i wish they would make them so you can put a vrx board directly inside them like in a panel across the top so you don't have as much in your fave, but they still be basically analog goggles, just don't know if they are worth it as they are just for better screens...

I might not be the first to ask this, but have you had a look at the new AOS 5 v5 from Chris Rosser. Was honestly surprised that it wasn't in this list. I preordered the frame around new year, built it about 2 weeks ago, and i can't find anything about it on youtube. In my opinion its the most interresting frame Chris has released in a while, since its a classic 5 inch without the triangular arm design we know him for. In my opinion it flies amazing and i have never seen blackbox logs this clean, wether on the internet or my own quads. I would love to see what you think of it. And i think it might be my new frame of choice (preveously Quadmula).

I much rather of bought another Reedy 1416CSL that’s much stouter and all metal case.

What about the SpeedyBee Mario foldable 7 inch?
Is this GepRc DoMain drone (at 18:00) same like CineLog 35 but in different frame? Cinelog can lift full size gopro, so it should be okay I guess
How would he know? He never flies anything anymore.
It's going to be a good year!!! I just got my first crappy($30) Wifi drone with brushless motors and a Hawkeye 4k split cam, then I got some sweet motors(rcinpower 1303 8k) and I'm going to put them in a Fractal Engineering Wingman for long cinematic flights(20 min.) on cheap batteries(18650). I'm so excited!!! Can you tell?
Where did you get that drone??? Motors nowadays itself are like 70 dollars
Personally i wouldnt go cheap on a long range drone especially with it not having a flight controller or amything. Just build a real setup so you dont lose it
You should fly one of the Odonata series! Kai is one of your Patrons lmao
how mutch weight could carry the 10 inch long range drone?
Typically advertised as 3 kg.
I bought those plastic motor protetion in 2022, so in 2024 I got a wonder colletion of this. I use personally to insert a menssage inside, as phone number, instagram, and regulamentary number of aircraft. (never protec to me from a cut any wire) lol
Skyzone pros don’t do 100fps on race mode though on the ws vrx
Hey JB I am having a USB issue where Windows 10 is not seeing my Taranis qx7 nor my Velocidrone sim. There is no "LIB-USB or Better Usb" in my device manager but there is a "Unknown USB device (Device descriptor request failed".This one I updated the driver but it had no effect..I'm wondering if you have a video on this subject or if you have a fix? Thank you JB!!✈️✈️
Hi thanks much friend. I need some help here, I want to buy these two drones iFlight Nazgul Evoque F6D V2 HD x Defender 25 HD also I have DJI mini 4 pro . What goggles do I need that can work on all 3 drones ? can the DJI Integra GOGGLES work
How does a speedy bee compared to the rapid fire I still use analog here and there and my rapid fire is very old and now not so good I would like to check out the Speedy beat but rapid fire has been the king since I've been flying I'm not sure if I should order another rapid fire or check out the Speedy Bean iFly long range both drones and wings
Is the night eagle 120fps or still 60fps like polar?
Bardwell! Please review the Itsy!!! I’ve been running the pavo pico and i switched to the itsy, then the naked 03 itsy and ITS INSANE! Plus the kit is extremely well priced and the creator constantly comments.
Radiomaster Bandit goes up to 2W, but you have to enable it in /hardware.html. And EMAX is, wel... EMAX. You get what you paid for.
You forgot to Walksnail 4k Moonlight camera. In my opinion it's the biggest news of the month.
The GepRC stack doesn’t have a barometer
Bardwell... start leaving reviews of the wire protectors on the sites that sell em..lol
Hey, i have the problem, that i supported from 1,80 meter and now i cant bind it with the goggles
can you make fpv budget build 2024
Nakedize , lol, I think the word is "Strip" BTW the Ultra 03 removes the SD card slot, leaving only internal storage, but cuts weight in half
Who would buy the new skyzone O4X pro with options like the hdzero and avatar goggles available?
People who fly analog.
The helion is a evolutionary design. By giving up a strict X/ deadcat and freestyle lipo on top design they achieved a small wheelbase with no props in view
is there any way to give money temporarily
Everyone: The HoloDonata is by far the best ever 2.5"' w/03 unit!
JB: I won't fly it.
Also JB: Buy the stuff I recomend, I "know it all!"
What, are you 12?
The comment was tounge-in-cheek. Much like my "know-it-all" branding.
Thanks for telling the truth about those damn wire protectors!
You are a straight pimp Joshua... God bless you
Is that Patrios LED a misprint maybe then? 1 to many zeros. I was on the fence @$36. Lol. , $360?
It is because it is NDAA and not made in China, so not really targeted to hobbyists :)
While it is less agile, you can freestyle the fudge out of a 10in.
What? no motor wire protector giveaway?
I just read the product page for the Patrios thing and did some research… you know when something feels illegal but isn’t? that.
My speedybee 50a esc blew 6 of the capacitors last time i disarmed. Has that happened to anyone else.
My 7inch with a 1500mah battery weighs in at about 680with batt no prop and I estimate about 25g for 4 props so 705g with bat and props 7inch quad 1.something pounds?😅
Thanks do a new products fixed wing electronics segment
27:44 it looks like a cyber truck
So another digital night camera that only does 60fps and high latency?
I have the new toolkit
So far, kinda bummed. All plastic case, but like thin plastic. Does have some cool features, BUT it struggles to charge 2s xt30 on all channels. Only likes my 4s and 6s stuff….is it worth $200 farrrrrrrr from, this should be $150 especially as it only comes with the power cord for the wall and a male XT-90 lead.
I much rather of bought another Reedy 1416CSL that’s much stouter and all metal case.
Geprc has 10 inch bnf that are under $400 but analog
GEPRC products are low quality, especially that budget quad
@vanlifefpv6340 the budget long range mark4 lr8 is actually really good. I have that one and the 10 inch ef10. Both preform great. Built very well.
The real difference between de HOTA F6+ and the HOTA F6 Pro, is that the + has a faulty power supply, I have 2 different F6+ dying on me on a month. You can ask all the community, it has happened to a lot of people :(
