Your cosmos look great!! Mine are nonexistent this year 😅😂!! So hot here in Maryland nothing looks good right now. Love to watch your cleanup, I will do mine in the morning. 😊
Hi Heidi great video looks like the weather is getting better for us at last I live in south east London. Totally agree with you about the Cosmos and Tomatoe plants this year.
My wife and I just recently moved into a new home in a lovely little village. It was my parents’ home and my Mum is a keen gardener. She has left us a great starting point for creating a garden we would like and watching your videos is such a huge inspiration and providing lots of ideas and knowledge. Thanks for such a lovely channel.
I hope you soon put your own style stamp in the new garden, I have many of my mums plants here as she’s aging she’s splitting her favourites and I have orders what to take when she can no longer garden x
Here the roses suffered from the weather as well but we're very happy about the rain ☔️ The last three years it was so hot and dry that we had wildfires. I was really ready to say: "wow yes a lot of colour. Your garden is beautiful" 😉🌝 Greetings Heidi from Berlin 👩🌾💕
I think the weather has been dreadful everywhere. I’m in the Southern U.S. and it’s been so backwards. Winter lasted longer than normal. I planted my seals in my greenhouse and they germinated quickly and were just beautiful. Even spring was cold. After setting them outside in planters we had so much rain. They stayed wet and did nothing. I had to start making covers for them as best I could to keep rain from flooding them more. Even when it wasn’t raining it was overcast. Nothing dried out. We finally got some sunshine and it’s hot but I still have a couple planters that are still wet. And I do have drainage in containers We do judge our own gardens more harshly but your is beautiful. I love all the plants and flowers you have in it. Thanks for sharing ☺️🪴🪻💚
Oh honey I feel your pain, all the planning and work, but I’m trying to focus on beauty in the plant not the whole if that makes sense , I have been watering so hope it picks up x
@@Thetudorcottagediaries exactly, so much planning and hard work to see so failure. So funny that you said, “I’m trying to focus on beauty in the plant”. I love that. My garden is evolving slowly and it’s messy. So much to do with absolutely no help. But it’s a two acre area. (Very woody) I have lots of individual little spots. But on the beauty of the plant is exactly what I thought of this morning. My snap dragons are putting on their second flush and so beautiful. My cally Lillie’s are showing out. Just absolutely gorgeous. I’m seeing blooms on some flowers I started from seeds. I can’t remember what they are. Most everything in its own is beautiful. I talked to each flower in my pots this morning telling them just how beautiful they are. 😂My garden may be in disarray right now but the blooming flowers are beautiful. I enjoyed each one. Like you I’m looking at the beauty in the plant. I’m going to go back and rewatch this episode. I loved it. Happy gardening. I hope your weather will be great for you this weekend. It’s going to be hot here again today. 107 degrees today and most of the coming week will be the same. I went out very early this morning and it was rather nice. My sweet peas looked better.
Hi Heidi The weather has been dreadful here in Scotland as well. So wet. I think we can thank global warming. Your garden is very lovely and I guess the rain keeps our country green. ❤
Your garden is beautiful. I only have a tiny front area, where Madge and I can sit out under the shade of the parasol, and I grow trees and flowers in pots, so lots of watering (which I enjoy doing) during the dryer days in West Devon, England. Hope you are enjoying the lovely weather as we are here? Blessings from Jilly & Madge xxx
Hello, wow do you get potted DA or bare root, I’m going up to their head office / garden in a few months. It’s stunning I believe and I can wait, latest video shows my new DA purchase x
Your garden is beautiful and nice colours.. yup so cosmos dont like wet and cold..they from South Africa where the weather is very warm in summer...that's why they small..they grow wild over here in sa...love your garden. Don't stress about the cosmos...they strong flowers..
I won’t have time to bore you every day , I have found a rhythm I enjoy and I don’t put pressure on myself, although you tube is really pushing shorts so I’m putting them out but they never get viewers as I don’t put the effort in I could x x
Le jardin nous apprend la persévérance. Cette année est vraiment spéciale et on fait ce que l on peut. Votre jardin est magnifique malgré ce temps bizarre. Courage.
Your garden is looking really lovely Heidi. This year has been the worst I've ever known for my seeds. Poor germination and the ones that did come through just sat there for ages and wouldn't grow. Sorry it's been the same for you too but at least we now know that it's not us that's done something wrong. The birds are eating me out of house and home and two massive crows have taken up residence and scare away the little birds. Enjoy the nice weather. xxx
Like you I have two fat magpies scaring all my little birds and constantly emptying the feeders . Seeds are so expensive now so losing germination hits harder now x happy gardening x x
I had about 60% germination with my seeds. Some did really well and some didn’t but after planting them in pots it rained so much that they didn’t dry out, still haven’t and more rain in forecast. My Johnny Jump ups germinated quickly but are now only an inch high. They definitely didn’t jump up. I started them in my greenhouse in late February. So much work and not much success. I hope y’all get rain soon. I’m in southern Alabama. My county borders Florida.
@@Thetudorcottagediaries the squirrels got into my new unopened bird seed and ate half of it. What fell on the ground and small pots sprouted. lol they actually made pretty little grasses. But I lost all that birdseed….
Awwwwh....your garden is beautiful Heidi.......but the weather is awful for sure....think it's to get better soon 🤞🤞🤞🌞🌞🌞 .....ps....Happy planting 😅🌸🪷🌻🌺🌷🪻❤
@Thetudorcottagediaries oh my goodness, that's so TRUE .......we need the summer now to enjoy the fruits of our labour, lol 😆........cheers to the sunny days to come 😎 👍 X
Ironically my garden is growing better (or at least the same) as usual. The roses are really good. A lot of the annuals I've sown are bursting out. A lot of plants which did really badly last year (they were supposed to be perennial or annual self-seeders) have emerged and some are even early! Perhaps being in Wales where we are used to a bit more wind and rain than most other places even in a 'normal' year our plants are tolerating it better. Who knows? :)
My attempt at growing some vegetables this year is a waste of water and time! My Green Beans never even got one flower! I have 4 Summer squash plants, the Zucchini has only male flowers! The yellow crook neck squash grew very long vines, but… I got exactly ONE Squash! It was about 4 inches long, had a bird peck or a lizard bite on it! I got 6 small slices from it, cooked it in butter. It did taste quite nice. I have about 6 volunteer tomatoes… (I decided not to grow any this year) they have a few fruits, all cherry varieties. Pretty sure I am going to pull out the squash plants to save water! We are going to be 111f/43c degrees here today. Too hot really for plants to be happy! Even my citrus trees are under shade cloth!
Here in the U.S. we are having extremely high temperatures & no rain where I live so am having to constantly water. We need rain so badly. Yours looks so good!❤
