Awesome reaction! I would listen to this song over and over when I was younger and as always Home Free was on point with their version! I absolutely love how much fun they have and it really comes through in their music. You can't help but smile and toe tap right along with them. To me, they are amazing. From the way its takes just a split second for you to realize the vocals have shifted from Austin to Rob or the amazing bass line that comes from Tim and Chance! Then there's Adam, words alone pale to describe his God given talent!! It's amazes me how they found each at just the right time in their lives. Yes, I'm a huge fan and I thank you for your honest reactions to them. Peace and good thoughts for you as you continue your journey!
I never thought I'd be in this deep when I first reacted to the Sea Shanty Medley two months ago, and here we are. I'm listening to music I never thought I'd listen to, and really enjoying it. Home Free makes it easy on me though, because they are such talented men. I was very happy watching this one, and it definitely made me smile and toe tap. It was fun, like a lot of their stuff... when its not making me tear up a little bit, or a lot bit.
I grew up listening to the Statler Brothers, this is my favorite song of theirs. Home Free did an excellent job on this cover. Enjoyed your reaction. ❤️
I think this was their 2nd or 3rd quarantine video. Chance had a migraine, that's why he looks like he does. The other guys are starting to look a little rough åt the edges, look at Robs beard...

Another great reaction. Have had many times where I don't recognize a title of a song and then know it when it starts playing. Can't wait to see your reaction to Meet in the Middle. It's getting harder to recommend songs now cause you've done so many. LOL I think you'll get a kick out of their cover of 'Honey I'm Good', it's a lot of fun.

How about "Moonshine" or "Sold" (+ with the From the Vault video about Sold) from Home Free. An original by Austin Brown would be also nice, such as "Off the Grid" (Acoustic version) or "Earn it".
Home Free is always conscious of their roots in country music. They always find a way to honor the original while making it uniquely their own and having so much fun.

Speaking of Austin, have you heard him sing "Bring him Home" from Les Mis? It was done in one of their concerts and the video quality isn't great, but Austin is!

This is an early quarantine video....it may have been their 1st actually. and yEs Harold Reid was the bass with thE Stadler's. I believe this Was !st a hit for the Stadler's in 1965 and it was a huge crossover hit to from country to pop !
I've loved this song since I was a kid. I get such a kick out of watching Austin sometimes. He reminds me of a wiggly little puppy about to pee on the floor. He's just so joyful, you can't help but be in a better mood after watching this and then ending up with this song as an earworm until something else kicks it out of your mind! Loving the reaction as always! ❤

I remember when this song first came out. My 2 sisters and I would dance down the street at night singing this song. Goofy I know but it was fun. (couldn't get the 2 brothers out there. LOL! ) The guys always do the songs so well. Thanks again for a great reaction.
This is up there as my favorite cover that Home Free has done. You definitely should listen to Home Free's cover of 'Everybody walkin this land' it has a really good message that needs to be heard and shared.
This is one of 4 (Actually 6, because one was kind of 3 in one) I recorded today. So I also have my reaction to Life is a Highway (both Sing-off with the opening number, and music video), Meet in the Middle, and Meant to Be already in the can. I recorded about 30 reactions lastnight in total. But the next Home Free reaction I record will be that!

@@KayOhio And it's crazy, I have reacted to SO MUCH HOME FREE over the past 2 months now, and I haven't even really scratched the surface yet. And now they have a new album. These guys are so busy.
I definitely hadn't heard this one before, but it quickly became a favourite - as you said, such an appropriate song for the time, last spring. They were still getting the hang of filming videos themselves - ring light, mobile phone in a frame, bit of flowery material pinned to the wall. Chance had a migraine, and Austin had a storm take out the power at his house while he was trying to film.
And of course, getting the hang of recording music remotely, and getting it out in a short time frame - before, they'd have a block scheduled to go into the studio and record songs for the videos to be released over the next few months, but suddenly they were doing two songs a month instead of one, and they'd just come to the end of the releases from the Dive Bar Saints album, so they didn't have that in reserve.
Losing their touring career could have been a disaster for them, but instead they turned it into an opportunity to keep winning new fans all around the world. They want to get back to touring and live music, but kudos to them for seizing the time with both hands and making so much great music for us, both as a group and individually.
Yeah, I think it is a real testament to their talent and perseverance. This pandemic has caused a lot of pain for people, and has been troublesome for all, but I like seeing how people worked through it differently.
Yes! “Meet in the Middle” is one of my favorite quarantine videos (of course, all of their videos are amazing).
There are songs I don’t think I know (my husband likes the oldies from the 50’s and 60’s (some were popular before he was born) and he’ll listen to stuff and ask me if I remember it or if I know who’s singing. Sometimes I know and sometimes he names the song and don’t recognize the title but when he plays it I realize I knew it (more 60’s and 70’s though). I really enjoyed your reaction to this one. I never looked close enough to see the ring light reflecting in their eyes. I suppose I’m not as observant as I used to be.
Kudos to Home Free and to you for doing this reaction. Like many others I grew up on The Statler Brothers. You should really delve deeper into their music. I wouldn't doubt that you've heard others of theirs. They had many popular hits. Cheers, Steve

Here again, another iconic song when ya read the title ya thing --- Ohhhhhhhhhhhh ********. "Tunes ya don't mess with"!!! Well, guess I should trust ..... but ya know!?! How dare I? And they absolutely "kill" it. As with Ring of Fire, they perform it or better yet, just enhance. Damn good.
The Statler Brothers are from my home state of Virginia. I've always been a big fan of theirs & loved this cover. Harold Reid used to do that deep bass drop on "Captain Kangaroo" also.
My dad knew the Statlers I grew in a small town not far from Staunton VA. My dad also knew Patsy Cline. He played a fiddle and guitar in several bands back in the late 50’s early 60’s.
I remember The Statler Brothers singing this on TV way back when. I looked it up to see Released: 1966. I would have been about 11. I remember watching Captain Kangaroo's show growing up.
Of course you're right about Austin's soulful wail, but don't forget Rob's amazing R&B breakout on End of the Road. As for Flowers On The Wall, I was so happy to hear HF do a song I liked so much as a kid. The reference to Captain Kangaroo was perfect.
If you were going to be familiar with any Statler Brothers song, this would be the one! It was probably their biggest non-Gospel country hit. Much like the Oak Ridge Boys, the Statlers recorded both country albums and Gospel albums. Home Free's harmony style has more than a little influence from both groups, even more so since Chance joined the group since Tim, Chance, and Austin all grew up listening to that type of music.
One of my favourites, but which of their songs isn't, right. This really is, though. It always makes me want to move in a happy way and I always smile. Great reaction and yes, I constantly say about music and films that it's new to me just to realise it isn't. I was never one who paid attention to the titles and artists, I just enjoyed listening (or watching).
Tim doesn't get many leads but he wrote and sings lead in What is the World coming to on the Dive Bar Saints Album. And it's in his mid range octave.

Tim has a little gravely trate he is a Texan. Tim also does some bass beat boxing. Each did their part in their home studios and then mixed them together with great results.
I will always prefer the Statlers' version, this is great.
This video was released early in the lockdown at a time when we really needed a catchy tune to lift our spirits. Love it.
My first real concert when I was about 6 years old was a big extravaganza featuring my dad’s favorite singers. It was Johnny Cash, the Carter Family, and the Statler Brothers. It made a lasting impact on me. Thanks for another great song and reaction.
This song was used in the movie Pulp Fiction. Harold Reid was the bass in the Statlers. I grew up listening to the Statler Brothers - a four-member group that did gospel and other country favorites. I love this version - and it is close to the way the Statler did it. Another great reaction!

Yes thats ring light. But typically, its not hard to remove in editing. So it was a choice to leave in.
