    Thank you Sir. I’ve done cleaning that sensor, but the part that really made me crazy is that yellow clip’s. I couldn’t click it back after finishing the job, broke it down and had to use zip-tie to make sure connector won’t disconnect. I hate Volvo and their Swedish complications when it comes to clips or coolant hoses connectors under the truck. Easy stuff unnecessarily over complicated.

    I work for a volvo construction equipment dealer and we see this a lot. I bought a set of torch cleaners and wire pipe cleaners for this exact purpose. You will also see lost power and not have any dtcs active when the soot clogs the orifices. Good video!

      @@navaro20 , Do a Regen, then drive truck normally until the temps get back to required parameters. Then do a ECU Reset, by turning key to On position not starting the truck then OFF.
      Do this 3 times, then start the 4th ON position. This should clear the code.
      If it doesn't clear up you need to use the Computer Software for your Engine to "Clear All Codes."

    Well unbelievable but true on my 2018 Volvo I’ve been experiencing this situation for a while, I just recently purchased my first diagnostic computer and I am glad because I don’t like the periodic check in your lights coming on and not being able to do anything about it, interestingly enough I ran a diagnostic on the engine and it came back with what I believe it should be the same as what you’re describing, it came back with the (engine exhaust gas recircutation 1 valve flow insufficient detected, i’m wondering if this is the same symptom although mine does not look dirty on the outside but I’m fixing to follow the same procedure that you demonstrated, your feedback on this is appreciated and I want to thank you very much,

    You mentioned coolant possibly leaking to the sensor. How would that happen? And how can I check? I have the same code and lost engine power. I smell coolant but no visible leak. Thanks

    • @alreyindustries
      @alreyindustries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At about 50 seconds into the video I point at the EGR cooler. It is the long silver rectangular box with the orange rubber hose on the front of it. That is like a radiator of sorts and it is meant to cool the exhaust gases that are recirculating back to the intake.
      It uses coolant to do that and sometimes they leak internally. If you pull that orange hose of the front of it and shine a light in there you should be able to see if it is wet or not. It should not be wet or smell of coolant. If it is wet or smells like coolant inside that EGR cooler, it is most likely leaking and needs to be replaced.

    Hi there. Could the same thing happene to a 2006 Volvo vnl with a VeD12 engine ? Sometimes i smell coolant but there's no noticeable leak. Now i do hear a hissing sound like coming from the egr and the turbo area everytime it does it it blows smoke. What could that be ?

      @@Coronado-nz7wu , Don't Use electrical contact cleaner. It leaves a film coating of gunk.
      Just use air and a soft rag to the outer shell, then dab a little Conductive Grease with your finger to the connections.

    I had the same code, dealer said egr valve is stuck closed. Is that effect similar to when people block off the egr to bypass the recirculation process, or would a stuck closed egr lead to loss of power? I did clean the diff pressure sensor as you showed

    Most of them time it’s not delta p, it’s egr valve itself. It’s a common problem in Volvo. I’m on my 3rd egr valve, it only lasts me 100k miles

    Can I clean the sensor ports with carb cleaner?

    • @alreyindustries
      @alreyindustries  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@amandaandgabriel5950 it’s probably not recommended by the manufacturer, BUT as long as you make sure it is dry before putting it back together you should be ok. The two ports at the bottom of the sensor are sensitive to pressure so be aware of that.

      @@alreyindustries I got code p040313 and my vovlo is a 2017 630 with a d13. Does this video refer to that code? Also I really appreciate the help. I'm a new owner operator and any way I can save money and fix it my self will definitely help.

    • @alreyindustries

      @ from what I saw online (I don’t have the software anymore), it looks like this code is referring to an open circuit at the EGR valve. Check the wiring at the EGR valve connector and harness. And if you know how, check the voltage and ohms at the connector of the EGR valve.

    • @alreyindustries
      @alreyindustries  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you found water in the ports of the actual sensor where it reads the exhaust pressure, that is usually normal. There is often times condensation that builds up on those sensor ports because of the change in temperature and humidity. If you found water in the electrical connector you have other issues. I wouldn’t worry too much about water in the sensor ports, but make sure the ports in the pipe where the sensor mounts are not plugged and that the sensor is reading pressures correctly.
