Hi everyone, this is JD, your gsdget review friend.
This phone was released 2016 and fast forward 6 years we still have iPhone SE 2022 with the same looks, just different build and internals. This is a really good phone, of course its not for heavy users, this is more for casual use, if you want to use the services of Apple like iTunes for Music, iMessage or Facetime. This is the cheapest but will give you a decent performance. So today I will give you reasons why you need to own ut in 2022, some of the challenges and my recommendation.

My phone is iphone7 since 2016 until now 2022 is still working and good 👍
I had a iPhone 7 since 2 weeks after it released and just upgraded to the 13 pro max and yes it was a HUGE upgrade but I never let my 7 go because it still did everything I wanted it to do. I only had to take it to apple once to change the battery

Same, i upgraded from an iphone 8 to a iphone 14 pro. I still have the 8 and will never let it go cause i love it so much
Still have this though. Works perfectly fine. Sadly it doesn’t get iOS 16 but no reason for me to upgrade. Still in love with the Matt black satin finish😍
Yup no need if it still works for you. I know that there are fake camera atrachements that would make it look like iPhone 13 or something. I saw that on aliexpress once.
My iPhone 7 Plus is worth me keeping. I love it! It’s been in a Otter case for most it’s life but last couple of years in a Dollar Tree clear case. Dropped it many times, few scratches on the screen, tiny superficial dent on 1 curved corner otherwise exterior is good, clean it up will look brand new. I paid full price all at once as this phone was meant to be my forever phone. The home button is why I have not upgraded. Facial recognition too unpredictable to me. Nice sturdy weight. Normal daily use, listen to music, but I have lots of files synced to my computer: photos, word/adobe files, screenshots, notes, all my emails, tons of bookmarks and and passwords. So my phone stores all my information. Everything is backed up to drives: 1 ssd 1 t, 1 internal hard drive and 1 external drive from dismantled laptop. Plus flash drive back up.
Like video said: low battery life, daily charging needed, freezing app/ touchscreen once in a while and 128g phone storage almost used up. Just gonna delete some apps and delete pictures since I have backups everywhere (maybe). Really none of those are major at all. Alone as I have some storage space, my iPhone 7 Plus is not going anywhere.
I would recommend definitely as entry level phone. The video is spot on. 😃
Edited to add: the SE back in the day was my favorite iphone. It fit perfectly in my hand, pocket(rarely), mostly in my purse, sturdy weight and I loved that phone like nobody’s business. I upgraded because my sister did LOLL and I wanted a bigger screen to watch movies. I am tempted to buy the New SE because I do miss it. Collectors item.

I had a 4-year-old android phone, sold it, and got an iPhone 7 for dirt cheap, just want to use it till May 2023, hopefully, it gets the job done.

I got one for my wife for only $100 last Dec. It's her first smart phone and she likes it a lot; texting her sisters and friends all the time. Only thing she doesn't like is the poor battery life.
maybe you can upgrade her to iPhone SE 2020 or 2022, better battery life 😉

The x is not that bad for basic use , but the battery live is gonna be pretty bad too if it has the original battery.
If money isnt that big of a Problem i would recomend the 13 mini for basic users.
(Would get it from amazon renewed)(refurbished by amazon)

bigger and better screen than the 7,se2022,..
even a bit smaller form factor than the 7 wich means its easyer to carry around (pocket,...)

Definitely no need for upgrading in the next 6-7+ years (maybe let apple replace the battery at some point)
Overall the perfect phone for people that want a small phone for basic needs texting,calling,taking some pictures, googling something,...

I still use 7 plus. When everyone is telling me that I don’t have some features I just download app and voila.
I just recently gave it a refurbishment because I want to use it for a bit more (better battery life, fast etc)

IDK. For me, go for the iPhone 8 cos of wireless charging. For another 100 USD, go for the iPhone SE 2020 for updated internals. But it always depends on each other's budget. Great video Kabayan. Been busy so haven't been active on commenting and liking your videos. Sorry bout that. Peace ✌️❤️

Or for super budget conscious people who also want a headphone jack I’d recommend the 6s it isn’t really much different from the 7
SE2 has unaddressed camera issues, no fix, at least mine does.

DO NOT upgrade above iOS 15.4 if you didn't do it yet. It WILL eventually break your iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus. They rolled out an update that will slowly make components like the microphone unusable. It won't happen for all at the same time.

Just so y’all know. The iPhone 7 can run intensive games I use the iPhone as my gaming phone. Highly recommend to get a external cooling Device to help the crazy heat because it’s a metal phone. Some hiccups and lags here and there. Good budget gameing phone.

I believe so. They are still bringing new security updates to phones even older than the iPhone 7. However, in a few years, or maybe even a decade, there will come a time when the people who use the iPhone 7 are so low that there Is absolutely no reason to bring security features to them anymore. But don't worry, your phone will still get security updates for a long time.

Hi, stucked between iphone 6s plus or iphone 7. I heard that iphone 7 is more advanced than 6s plus and it might still compatible to ios 16 but my main problem is the battery, is it just ok? Or I just choose 6s plus rather?
If you are just looking for better battery, iPhone 6s, I dont think iPh9me 7 will get iOS 16 though but I might be wrong.
iPhone 11 isn't that much more expensive (They sell for 300-400$) and they are WAY better.

i got my ip7 back in feb this year i smack it down to my metal bed and it breaks the lcd and bend the case a little but yo its still kickin i replace the broken screen.
