    These guys make a great product and stand behind it. My thermostat went out after only a few months and called Terry. He apologized and sent out a replacement the same day... NO CHARGE! Don't even think about buying an overseas knock-off. You may save a little money up front, but you'll pay for it in the end. Thank you Terry!!!

    This company is outstanding! Purchased a blower from them, but being a layman, I had no idea what I was doing after my fireplace installer left me hanging. Called the number Jim mentions in this video, and spoke to Jim directly. He walked me thru and I finally have a fireplace that blows warm air! Still not happy with the Quadrafire fireplace itself, but happier that we can at least push some heat out into the room, thanks to Jim! What a great company!

    I purchased a unit and I am trying to figure out a happy medium between the higher fan speed and the increasing "noise" from the fan. The issue I am having is that a higher fan speed, the blower turns on and off every 40-50 seconds. I am "thinking" the reason for this is that cool air is blowing across the thermostat (under the box) and the fan gets shut down. It immediately heats up and turns back on. Anyone have any ideas?

      What make and model fireplace do you have? If you have the GFK-160A fan kit illustrated in this video, your fireplace is going to have a threaded mounting stud for the sensor. You'll want to magnetically attach the sensor as close to that threaded weld stud as possible. You can usually locate that stud below the fireplace up on the ceiling. It usually has a hex or wing nut on it already. That is the location where your model wants the sensor to be placed, so look for that stud and get that sensor as close to that stud as possible. It's not uncommon for these boxes to be insulated in certain areas, so what you're experiencing could be a result of just bad sensor placement. Shoot me an email directly at support@fireplaceblowersonline.com if you have any questions. Regards, Jason

    Just got my kit but is the fan supposed to shut off after it cools down automatically

    • @fireplaceblowers
      @fireplaceblowers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, assuming the sensor is placed in the correct location, the fan will automatically shut off after the fireplace is cooled off. If it's not in your case, you may need to move the sensor further away from any standing pilot. Feel free to call us directly if you have any questions @ 262-989-4882. Regards, Jason

    I received this blower but not wired together do you have a video for connecting the wires not pre wired got it from amazon

    • @fireplaceblowers
      @fireplaceblowers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on which blower kit you received on Amazon. The kits we sell are all pre-wired, so if you got something else, it may not have come fully assembled. We've got a few videos on TH-cam, including this one, that show how the kits are wired. Otherwise, email me directly at support@fireplaceblowersonline.com! Regards, Jason

    I have the 6000TR-OAK fireplace. Is this the blower I need ? I also need a new thermostat. Preferably DIGITAL. THX

    • @fireplaceblowers
      @fireplaceblowers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, all 6000 series models use the GFK-160A kit. We've revised/improved this kit since this video was taken, but you'll definitely enjoy having the blower added! Cheers, Jason

    Works great, just like everybody says. But I have a question. Is there any any reason that I couldn't just bypass that temperature sensor when I have a wall switch to turn it on & off? I can understand its function when a wall switch isn't an option, but with a wall switch it's just an inconvenience waiting for the box to heat up for 10 minutes before the blower starts.

    • @fireplaceblowers
      @fireplaceblowers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, you can absolutely bypass the thermostat sensor so long as you have a dedicated wall switch for the blower. Just remove the two wires going to the sensor and bridge those two loose wires together. Pretty simple process! Regards, Jason

      Sorry for the late reply on this Stan. These kits all come pre-wired, so there's really no wing you need to do. But you can always refer to the following:

    I have the space (about 5”) under my fire place for this to fit but the opening is just under 4”. Is there a way to remove something to get this under my fire place? I have a Heat and Glo SL-7

    • @fireplaceblowers
      @fireplaceblowers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply Jimy, but wanted to at least post an answer since we get asked this often. The SL-7 models all use the GFK-160A kit. If you have 4" through the front opening, that's just enough to clear the opening. We've reduced the height profile of our newer GFK-160A kits, so 4" is perfectly okay. You can also remove the front glass on most of these models to gain a tad more space. Regards, Jason

    I would think that bellmouth inlets on the fans would make a measurable increase in efficiency. I'm thinking that this company doesn't have an engineer on board. So many of the complaints that customers have about these fans could be solved by applying some fundamental fan design principles.

    Can you explain to me how to clock the blowers more specifically how I get the fan blades off the main metal rod

      @fireplaceblowers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Give us a call at 262-989-4882 and ask to speak with Jim. He's our head builder and can explain the process to you. It's difficult, but these are press fit wheels, so you risk damaging the shaft and/or fan blades.

    Do you know if this can be used to replace a wood burning fireplace blower FO-HB9 with dimensions 16.5 x 8.5 x 5.5 inches.

    • @fireplaceblowers
      @fireplaceblowers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on which model RSF it's being installed in, but in many case, it can make for a reasonably priced alternative. The OEM kit uses a similar blower, but it's paired with aluminum wheels to help better shield against the higher ambient temps of the RSF wood fireplaces. The GFK-160A does use a high temp composite wheel, but we've seen no issues with them in higher heat environments. Hope this at least helps :) Regards, Jason

    I have a Heat and Glo Bay Supreme, 3 sided glass fireplace which I installed in 1989. The blower recently went belly up. I contacted Heat and Glo. They said the blower used in the Bay Supreme unit is a BFK-160 and is no longer available. It looks all but identical to the GFK-160 in this video. I asked Heat and Glo customer service if I can replace the BFK-160 with a GFK-160 and they said it is not compatible. I have no idea why. The only difference I see is that the wind exhaust on my current unit blows horizontally to the fireplace base. Does anyone have any input for me? I already have a rheostat, so all I need is the blower to repair. Thanks! Dick Kauffman
