    Great effort sir 🙏🙏♥️♥️ . Actually I would like to tell you one thing sir , it's very very rare to find people like you in this marine field. Mean to say a man with liberal views and practical approach. As you said one should be sound with theoretical knowledge and can learn practical aspects over certain period of time . But onboard in 90%cases things are totally opposite , I have seen many times that when somebody try to explain theoretical aspects seniors will say " Abe fundey maat De , Jo bataya ja Kar " . They are never ready for any kind of knowledge sharing or having constructive discussion. It's like follow my orders like we are slave of theirs. The guys will be very very lucky if people like you will get them onboard as seniors.

    What should We do if the ship plans doesn't add up with reality then.I am a new 3rd Engineer onboard a ship which is 1994 made.Manuals doesn't add up,line diagrams doesn't add up nothing works?

    • @merchantnavydecoded
      @merchantnavydecoded  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When nothing works then your hardwork and persistence works. I remember that I had a habbit of depending upon manuals a lot and then I did a takeover Ship where nothing was there , firstly I felt lost but slowly I realised that human mind is unique , earlier I realised more on manuals but now I started relying more on myself and somehow managed with whatever means I had. So , have faith in yourself and just dont give up.

      Good day Sir, I wanted someone to write this message so that I can reply my intentions as well. Sir , to be honest I have learnt a lot from fitters and oilers in my life and would never do anything to demean them but the whole idea of the video was to magnify the importance of a good engineer onboard. A bad engineer will be a bad leader and he will surely make life hell for his crew members as well. If you watch the video carefully , i have added a disclaimer that THIS VIDEO IS NOT TO OFFEND A FITTER OR OILER , WHO ARE IMPORTANT PART OF THE TEAM , ALWAYS.
      Hope , I make sense Sir , do share your views will wait for your message anxiously.

    Even low experience engineer know that basics like reading system drawings, this is one of essential skills needed for promotion from raiting to engineer. No offence, but your video title is misleading. Your advice is good for people who are willing to became engineers, like motormen, cadets or fitters. But I did not find this useful as engineer, some generic advice like work hard and learn everything, bla bla.

    • @merchantnavydecoded

      I completely agree with you , to be honest presently my focus is only students who are doing marine engineering or GME and will be going on their first ship. I personally feel that it will surely be useful for these people. Some generic advice like work hard and learn everything bla bla bla , can be unimportant to you may be because you a motivated engineer but there are few who need guidance . But I will surely not disappoint you in future as well ,I will surely be putting some videos for pros as well.
