    Kind of interested in Ramuh now because he seems to break some of the rules of Primals slightly in how he behaves. Not entirely but there seems to be a little more reason in his behavior.

    • @SynodicScribe
      @SynodicScribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      It's because the peace loving Sylphs imagined him to be reasonable on some level. But we can't forget, until Ramuh saw the lightning crystal the Sylphs gave us he was totally read to smite us without a second thought!

      @@SynodicScribe Or the fact that two of the most powerful of Primals are also following those same rules as Ramuh in that they were created for very specific purposes and thus their "Intelligence" is just the will of someone else or a remainder of the hosts will.

      @@SynodicScribe that's understandable. The Sylphs summoned him to specifically defend them and their home against threats such as the Garleans. Alexander is a similar case, tbh. Both primals do seem to have wisdom beyond their needs for worshipers and sustenance, though Ramuh is still more than happy to doom anyone who threatens the Sylphlands, whereas Alexander realized his power was TOO great to allow himself to exist.

    • @SynodicScribe
      @SynodicScribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes and no. It's assumed Hydaelyn trapped them kinda like how the Allagans trapped the Warring Triad. But there are some story beats that have been retconned. Originally the primals were supposed to have their own backstories and reasons for being evil entities. But NONE of that has been addressed or added in the game or within their publications. If these things are ever talked about in game or in their books you KNOW I'll be talking about it.

    So here's a thing I wonder about primals: are they unique entities? e.g., if a group of kobolds in Eorzea summon Titan, and a group of different kobolds in, e.g., Mericydia, also summon Titan, does Titan show up in both places? Are they two different Titans?

    Question with Heavensward spoilers attached:
    I'm wondering why Ilberd summoned Shinryu and not an Ala Mhigan interpretation of Rhalgar? Are the 12 such a separate class of being that a primal approximation couldn't be created, like Iceheart did with Shiva, and the Moogles did with Good King Moggle Mog? Because near as I can tell Rhalgar is the primary deity of Ala Mhigan society, and this has been bothering me since the end of Heavensward.

    With endwalker and pandaemonium going into the concept of creation magics and summoning, im curious on what the true difference is. Currently the main thing i see is that primals constantly drain aether unless dispersed, tempering (though that i am unsure about as Venat did state that a process similar to tempering existed in the old days) and thats it.

    • @granmastersword
      @granmastersword 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a bit more explanation given by the Loporrits when we were traveling inside Ragnarok.
      You can view the two methods like instructions/blueprints to summon entities. The summoning ritual is a specific set of instructions or a well defined skeleton that allows for the summoning of entities through religious like fervor, with the caveat that they possesses the power of tempering and are constantly draining aether to sustain themselves.
      When the Loporits assisted in their summoning, their designs no longer possess the tempering power and they now have a finite amount of aether to exist with

    If normal primals have specific elements then in which category would Titania, Ravana, Bismark, Susanoo, Lakshmi, Magus Sisters, and King Moogle Mog would fall on? Is King Moogle Mog an elder primal btw?
    What about Anima? that one is like Shiva and Thordan but not by his own free will, more like his dead body was used for it, and he can temper people as well.

    • @n-aera
      @n-aera ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it's obvious really, Titania is light, Ravana fire, Bismarck water, susanoo lightning, Lakshmi light, Good King Moogle Mog and Magus sisters are a weird case, might be light like thordan, they also have similar concepts, Anima is definitely Darkness

      @@n-aera how is it obvious that Ravana is fire? Bismark is not so obvious... is not just water, there is wind there too, same as Susanoo, is water and lightning, not specifically one at all. Titania isnt that obvious either, there is light and trees. Lakshmi might be just light and Anima dark, a bit obvious yeah... the problem is that light and dark are not part of the 6 elements cycle specifically. The elements are Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Earth, and Lightning.

And yeah maybe he wasnt right about it and they dont have a specific element, maybe some have more than one. Magus Sisters and Moogle Mog are still a mistery tho heheh... The Burn had nothing to do with primals. That story was made up by Garlemald as an excuse to wage war on the "savage" peoples. More like it was created by the Allagans, in some experiment similar to what would have happened when they ripped Azys Lla off of the surface. There is even a main story quest where Y'Shtola disables a device that was restricting the flow of aether to the Burn. (I think it was even stated somewhere, that IS where Azys Lla came from)

    • @SynodicScribe
      @SynodicScribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Then it's simply another continuity error. I.E. Data is contradicting itself. Unfortunately I've more than one source saying Primals were the cause, so I have to go with that. If I use one line of dialogue from Y'shtola against all that then other people would get on my case too. The writers for FFXIV aren't perfect and neither am I.

    • @JohnDCrafton
      @JohnDCrafton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SynodicScribe Funny thing, that. Check your sources. Not a one of them (except for the in game duty finder) claims that primals were directly responsible. Rather, what you'll find is the Garleans claiming primals were responsible. Specifically, when they were marching on Othard, they happened across the Burn, and Solus said "this was caused by primals". Though he would have called them eikons.

      But here is something for you to consider.
      We often think of encyclopedias as infallible reference material. In truth, they are written by people who live in the world they are writing about, people who do not have perfect knowledge of the world. Encyclopaedia Eorzea was written from that perspective as well. So, unless the book tells us specifically what was summoned, who did the summoning, and what were the circumstances, all we have to support the primal theory is Solus' claim.
