LOVE the review! Bernardo doesn't do these anymore so this is one my few outlets for content on TH-cam.
      Thanks Luke! : )

I thought this game looked familiar. I have a copy of Worm Up! My family does enjoy it but the camel version would be much cooler to have!

i'm sure someone can make a 3d template for printers so this can be reproduced since it isn't licensed anymore.

Love this. Can’t finding it anywhere. Worm up available. Not interested in it. Are you willing to sell your copy of blazing camels???

Sorry but it's not for sale. They do pop up periodically, sometimes with the cardboard box and sometimes with just the bag and the components. It's best to set an eBay saved search for a copy. I had seen Worm Up is similar in gameplay but agreed, this looks better

Interesting-the boardless freestyle reminds me of Tokyo Highway, which I picked up and played thanks to your review; and the designʼs ambiance reminds me a bit of Colt Express, which I _also_ picked up and played thanks to your review. Thanks! 😁
As for compact vintage games…well of course there are numerous card games such as Uno and OʼNO 99 and so many others, but maybe cards arenʼt what youʼre going for. (?) Iʼll mention a couple of 1990s non‐card games which draw inspiration from other, classic games but, unlike your travel Cluedo, are not merely small‐scale adaptations:
    • Tic Tac Chec combines chess and tic‐tac‐toe/noughts & crosses. Players alternate turns, either placing a piece on any empty square on the 4×4 board or else moving one of their own previously placed pieces. Each player has four pieces-a knight, a bishop, a rook, and a pawn-and each piece moves as in chess (except that the pawn has no two‐space move or capture en passant and, upon reaching the opposite side, does not promote but instead reverses direction). A captured piece is returned to its owner and can be re‐placed in a later turn. The object is to align all four of your pieces in a row, orthogonally or diagonally. One need not be a chess fan to get a kick out of Tic Tac Chec…but it doesnʼt hurt, either! Once a friend and I were laughing at ourselves because we each were so focused on chess dynamics that we sometimes overlooked possibilities for the four in a row! 😛
    • Tile Chess from Steve Jackson Games, on the other hand, is a lot more like chess, but itʼs definitely its own animal. 🐫 It adds more players (the original edition plays 2-6; a later edition, just 2-4) but, like Blazing Camels, dispenses with the board. In the opening phase, players take turns placing pieces on the table so that every piece touches at least one other; the remainder of the game plays much like standard chess, with touch rules adding constraints on movement. Donʼt let the word _constraints_ fool you: This game has a wild energy one does not often associate with chess! ⚞♘⚟
Looking forward to a whole week of DFTA! 😎👍

Thanks for the recommendations Erik, Tic Tac Chec looks interesting and I like mash up games. I might have to hunt that one down. Seems like quite a tactical little game, especially if you're adhering to the chess move mechanics.
I had a look for Tile Chess, the only thing I could find was a book?
A lot of these smaller games fall into cards or dice games, Blazing Camels is essentially a dice game just with pretty pieces. I've also been looking at Flipsiders as I had a few of these as a kid, they're pretty pricey these days however.
Ask for non vintage, I've been put onto checking out the Tiny Epic range of games and I have to admit, they do look spectacular for the size of them

@@downfromtheattic Ah, Flipsiders…the humble origin of the fabled Mall Madness! 🤑💳
In the early ʼ80s TSR put out a series of mini board games with titles like Vampyre and Theyʼve Invaded Pleasantville…I havenʼt tried any, though.
Tile Chess is definitely a game with playing pieces, not a book, even though I see that the original edition (at least) has an ISBN-I can easily imagine it being sold in bookstores, and the originalʼs 8″×5″×½″ factor does have it literally fitting right in with the books. The later edition is just slightly bigger by about 1¼″ in each dimension. I have both-I like the originalʼs ability to accommodate more players, but I also prefer the reprintʼs more durable plastic tiles over the originalʼs thin cardstock.
Yes, Tic Tac Chec is a lot of thinky fun-and it can move fast!
There have been _so_ many card games over the years, but whatʼs recommendationworthy? Iʼve picked up a few I havenʼt played yet; I aim to rectify that soon while staying with friends for a few weeks in the midst of moving house. Q*bert (ʼ83-yes, a card game based on the classic arcade video game) and Mille Bornes are a couple of vintage card games I intend to try out.
And speaking of dice, are you a Boggle man? Thatʼs an old favorite of mine, though I admit Iʼve probably played it solitaire more often than against other people!
