It is hard to follow in Barbra's footsteps but Carola really makes it work There is a mistake in the writing credentials of the song as it is written by only Barry and Robin, Maurice was not involved in this one.
This is fabulous! I love the modulation (aka "key change") going into the second verse (which doesn't exist on the original Streisand version), and I also love that Carola did not try to copy Streisand. While I love this version, I do have two criticisms - 1) the piano part at times "competes for attention" with Carola because the pianist is playing about one octave higher than I would play (the pianist should ALWAYS stay in the middle registers when accompanying, unless getting a quick solo in appropriate places in the music) - the "competition" is most notable at the beginning of each verse. Playing it in a lower inversion would have gotten the piano out of the way. Another option would have been to keep the clavinet sound from the introduction and between verses 1 & 2 instead of switching instruments to keep the rhythmic hook going 2) the ending is too long - it could have been about half the length.
