We disagree it’s all about pragmatism. Older Paralegals have more information experience and skills than Lawyers who just graduated from ABA Kindergarten schools. It took Ancestor Client Elder Grantor Grandparent Traditional Lawyers 34 years of pragmatism to install NICER forgery proof permission ledger legal Instruments. To prevent citizens from being arrested for stealing each other’s homes with home made legal documents.
@building-my-10m-law-firm me too. I'm 56, and I can't handle real work ( welding, rigging, machining ) and have enrolled at a school for a paralegal certification. Also, I've an English degree.
Personal injury paralegal here in Canada🙋♀️. We prepare court applications, request and review medical records, report on records, prepare medical chronologies, we speak with witnesses, we speak with investigators and we assist the lawyer with pointing out critical info with recommendations with respect to medical experts and independent medical assessments, etc. Every firm is different, but we are treated very well and help to lessen some of the lawyer’s load where we can.
@@4850m-ve4qj honestly it always seems like because especially at big firms in the US one case could have 2-4 paralegals with 1 or 2 lawyers, feels like paralegals do most of the work and the lawyers are like there to review and make sure its right, thats how it feels like at least in the US, obviously only lawyers could try a case or do a deposition or mediation though
@@arafrahman1116 I think it really depends on the city, firm and the lawyer. Paralegals where I’m from largely run the files and the lawyer oversees their work, presents the case, mitigates risk and applies the appropriate law when it comes to procedures. I have only worked with lawyers who have really valued me as a paralegal. There are, of course, crappy paralegals out there (just like there are lawyers). You have to have a passion for it. I’ve worked in personal injury for 16 years and I love it. Each case is different and there is a story in each one.
