When I went back to Korea during Covid, in order to enter the country you had to give the customs a person in the country they could contact in case of a case or something. Which meant them calling the number you provide and confirming it before they let your proceed. Well my girlfriend was my contact but she was still asleep as it was 4am, and the only person who answered was my elderly uncle. He almost got the customs cursing at him and told them info that was contradictory. Luckily they let me through after an agonizing 30 minutes of trying to find someone who’d answer

  • @xVibra
    @xVibra ปีที่แล้ว +407

    The minor mistakes of "Hey boss, it's Pim here now" is what I value in acting. He knows your voice, you don't need to announce who you are, just talk. It's just something you do when you don't know someone all that well, and also overestimating how confusing it is talking to 4 people on the phone.
    One of my favorite movies is Grave of the Fireflies, and it's because the movie is filled with these moments of unnecessary information that make the situations feel naturally occuring. The scene in the beginning where the sister is asking for her doll while the brother is struggling to find it, not noticing his sister pointing directly at it since he's looking so hard elsewhere is one of those situations that has unnecessary hang-ups that add so much liveliness and believablility to the acting.
    It's not too hard to add either. When characters in movies never misspeak or have very direct, and especially dramatic, answers then it sucks me out of it super quickly. It just feels all orchestrated and contrived, and it usually spoils what happens because there's always a logical leap for what's next, because you know that any information given to you is pertinent to the plot, and isn't just details added for conversation between the characters.

    I love how you go into this episode expecting it to be the usual vacation episode of a cartoon where the characters get into wacky shenanigans and adventures but it turns out to be a complete subversion of that. Instead we get a hilariously realistic scenario of miscommunications between friends and the stresses of trying to book a hotel room, all animated in ONE shot for the entire 11+ minutes.
    This show is fucking brilliant.
