The ultimate HT1000 series is the JT1000 series with the mod for front panel programming. A 386 or 486 computer that runs DOS is needed to program these radios. Software is out there from what I hear but as always be careful at what you obtain. An important FYI is that Motorola releases multiple versions of their software for programming. If the radio was programmed with a newer version of RSS and you have an older version, you might be able to read the radio but you will NOT be able to program it. It was Motorolas way of getting one to buy a newer version of RSS. Well as luck would have it Motorola no longer offers any programming software once they discontinue a radio and obsolete it. Now this sucks since they have attournies busy in the copywrite office in Washington that keep ALL copyrites active to force people to purchase newer radios. There is software out there but you have to dig deep to find it. Technically the holder of the software is not allowed to pass on a copy of the software especially if they hold a software license.
You have alot of nice Radios dude..... Cool..... Do you do Airsoft or 4x4?? You should make some videos about your other hobbies??? Maybe you could start more channels..... I would probably watch..... And I'm sure other people would too.......

Software for the HARRIS MACOM P7200 or MOTOROLA HT- 1000 is pretty difficult to obtain.
Motorola corp makes it very hard to program the radios.
Yes they do unfortunately. I hate it! Oh well.
Yes you have some type of account and some soft wear to program them
I have like 4 of these that I programmed myself they are good radios
