Chinese restaurants have opened all around the world, but the dishes served there are typically Chinese lunch and dinner foods. So, what do Chinese people eat for breakfast? Very few people know.
This video captures a breakfast street in a northern Chinese city. This street includes almost all the common breakfast foods of northern China. Every morning from six to nine, a steady stream of people come here to buy breakfast and start their day.
Many of these foods are made using techniques passed down for hundreds of years. Ordinary people use the simplest ingredients, with the most perfect combinations and exquisite craftsmanship, to create the most delicious foods. You can hardly imagine how delicious a breakfast you can get here for just one dollar!

    ### Statement on Gutter Oil
    Dear viewers,
Chinese street food no longer uses gutter oil. Chinese consumers don't want to experience gutter oil again. The 2011 gutter oil incident sparked immense outrage across China. While foreigners might find the incident disgusting, the victims-Chinese people-were extremely furious. Consequently, the punishment for using gutter oil in China is much harsher than for other food safety issues, often resulting in imprisonment.
Additionally, due to the cultivation of genetically modified soybeans (which I know has its own issues), soybean oil has become very cheap, accounting for less than 5% of vendors' costs. Therefore, no one would risk jail time for such a small profit.
I don't deny that there are food safety issues in China, and I am well aware of the severity of these problems. For instance, excessive pesticide residues, misuse of food additives, genetically modified foods, and the livestock industry heavily using antibiotics and hormones. But there really is no gutter oil anymore. I'm explaining this in detail because I truly don't want you to think that I'm eating gutter oil.😂😂😂

Enjoyed watching this video, honestly presented and informative. This type of scenario is prevalent in Asian countries. Some viewers' comments are toxic and full of ignorance. A bit of jealousy, too. These people have not been to China and only read Western media which is extremely distorted and biased against China. Compared to western style processed food, the street food is way more healthier and natural. I suggest those anti-China people to go to Asia's "newly" most populated nation and witness the state of street food there.

Very thanks for your so friendly comments. I just uploaded vedio in recent months and I was so surprised by these comments. Too much misunderstanding and wrong information about China, and too much hostility.
I will do my best to document the China life honestly by camera. Hopefully, the honest vedio can be more persuasive than lie.

Enjoyed watching your interesting video. Chinese food is delicious, however some are too oily & salty. A great deal of improvements are still needed for better food practices like the way food is handled, prepared, the cleanliness & safe utensils used & neatness of the stalls and premises. Good pointers for the food handlers in wearing face masks. Keep that up!

It’s always like that, but nowadays it is more expensive, moreover in Shanghai, Beijing (at least the first tier cities). I was there between 04 to 12. It was real cheap, I mean I can buy rou baozi (meat dumpling) with only 0.5 yuan. Real real cheap. Now the same baozi cost 1.5 yuan to 2 yuan so… but it is more affordable than in west. My country also quite cheap when you eat street food, I can buy something for $0.3 to $1.5 for a meal

The cost and the math doesn’t make sense.. someone doesn’t know math or conversion rates.
The food is cheap, tasty and safe but you can’t get a sandwich for .5 cents USD. Or .2 cents or .6 cents. But once, 10 years ago I got 20 dumplings for $1 USD (in a USA restaurant I paid $1 each!)

Before the gutter oil scandal was exposed, ordinary Chinese people were unaware that such a thing existed. It was precisely because no one knew about its existence that it could be used. Once it was reported and everyone knew about this disgusting substance, how could anyone still use gutter oil in front of consumers? No consumer would tolerate it.
