Coping with family rejection

Summary: Happy Tuesday - today I went for a morning coffee with charlie. I called my step mum for the first time in 8 years hoping to have a relationship with her and my father again. However, this did not go to plan, so I reflected on this at the beach and enjoyed the rest of my morning being grateful.

Hey Ashira I don't have much contact with my family except for my brother. I have a really great partner who helps me so much. I can really relate to what you're saying. My father has hurt me so much and refuses to understand my perspective as well. It's so painful that he doesn't care to know or see me. I love what you said about using your energy to strengthen the relationships that you do have with your mom and partner. That is so right. I want to focus on that. I know I haven't been easy for my partner to be around sometimes but I know I can better myself and channel good energy and care into my relationship with him. That's great advice. Thank you so much. Oh no sweet love the last time I checked parents choose to bring kids into this world....you reacted naturally...he was the adult...you were a mere child who wanted to be loved....you are an awesome young girl...live your best life with your inner circle. Create new relationships with new people...I can relate with having a strange father...and honestly I don't care for a relationship with the guy ....My Step-dad filled every aspect of childhood as a loving supportive father figure. I was fortunate enough to have such a great human being in my life him and my separated after 20 years but our relationship as father and daughter remains the same. I love the guy he has been my rock during some hard times.

Luckly I have now my two parents who loves me, but all my life I thought my father hated me so I guess what you feel like. You're an amazing person and you don't need no one else aproval to be sure about that. We all went trough difficulties in our teenage behavior and if he doesn't want to understand it, well, bad for him. He's missing an amazing daughter.
I love your transformation, i see you everyday on ig, you are an inspiration to me.
PD: I hope you don't feel bad for crying about it. Sometimes we need it and there's no shame on that. It's just a way to let go.
