  • I arranged “Gospel” composed by Wotaku on piano.
I love the devastating, religious, aggressive, classical tone of this song, which is very Wotaku-like.
And I thought that the approach of Sergei Rachmaninoff, a composer and pianist active in the late Romantic period of classical music, would be a good match to express such a tone of the gospel on the piano, so I tried a different arrangement this time: a “Rachmaninoff-style piano arrangement.

    About the format
The first part of the original is considered as a presentation part, the second part as a development part, and the coda unique to this arrangement is considered as both a recapitulation part and a coda. But the tonal fluctuation is quite small because it conforms to the original music. If you do not interpret part of the coda as a recapitulation, it may be interpreted as a free ternary form incorporating variation form.
In the development section, each theme is varied.
    Presentation → Development → Recapitulation + Coda
    0:19 - 2:06 2:06 - 4:59 5:00 - 5:25
A variation is a kind of performance in which a specific melody or harmony is changed.
In this arrangement, the second chorus are variations.
The sonata form mainly consists of four sections: presentation section, development section, reprise section, and coda, in which each subject (theme) is presented in the presentation section, these subjects are developed in the development section, and the subject presented in the presentation section reappears in the reprise section.
In the recapitulation section, the theme presented in the presentation section appears again.
In addition, at 5:12 and 5:16, the symmetry of each voice part is emphasized, resulting in the duplication of the leading note and the occurrence of a continuous eighth degree, so it is recommended that either the outer voice where the continuous eighth degree occurs be played weaker (especially the lowest voice) or the accent on the first beat be played stronger.
