Nice vid and great looking truck! While I’m likely gonna go with the Prinsu (cheaper and I like the look better), I really like the hole punch idea over just removing the entire weather strip. I’m guessing it would work with the Prinsu too yea? It looks to be basically the same install
Thanks! The hole punch is pretty universal across the board I believe, but don’t quote me on that lol I think the bravo is cheaper than the prinsu at least when I bought it
@@RoamWithJon yea, no problem at all. To each their own and the UpTop is sick too. I like that the Prinsu by default has 3 mount points per side, whereas only the Alpha does for UpTop. Likely doesn’t matter tbh, but in my head it does haha. New sub btw
Rack and truck looks good! I just installed mine about a month ago. I think the fairing “cutouts” are for wind noise reduction; mine didn’t add any wind noise that I can detect.
@@QuakAOats he lives in another city so I don’t have his truck to compare mine to height wise, but I’d say they’re about the same. I like the style better than the prinsu but that’s all personal preference.
I am interested in this rack however would like to know how bad is the wind noise/wind turbulence..?? I had the go-rhino rack on the first..piece of junk don’t waste time or money very noisy lots of turbulence
I’d say it’s about the same as any other rack. Honestly I didn’t really notice much noise until I put the Plano box and the traction boards up there. Once you start stacking stuff up top I think that’s where you’ll get the majority of your wind noise.
Honestly you can’t go wrong with either. I like the prinsu load bars better. But I ultimately went with uptop, because I like the look more, and I plan on adding the uptop bed racks over my Softopper.
Been waiting 9 weeks for mine so far. Really need it to come soon so I can get it on before my spring trips start, or I'm going to have to change my packing plans.
Ah man yeah that’s been the story I’ve been hearing so far from a lot of people. Last time I talked to them they were having issues getting their load bars shipped over dude to weather
Yeah I didn’t plan on using lock tight on anything. I just check the bolts once in awhile if we’re going to be putting stuff up there or if we’re going on an extended trip. I used red on the antenna on the bimmer and that thing isn’t goin anywhere lmao
Great Video! What brand is that hood shield ???
Tyty, Weather tech 🤙🏽
New to the Tacoma scene here. Thanks for your vid. I’m about to assemble and mount mine today.
Nice! And no problem!
My man, very well done, ruff and step bye step, like any normal guy will do it in it's own garage.
Thank you 💯
🤙🏽
Great build! Just ordered one for my Ranger
Thanks! Ranger was my second choice if I didn’t get the taco lmao, love the look of that truck

@@RoamWithJon they’re both $730 with the Bravo charging for the light bar cutout. But thanks for the reply and great looking truck!
Oh right I forgot you have to get the fairing, I was running a light bar with out for a while haha, no worries

Thank you! I see, I guess I never noticed those cutouts on other uptop racks lol
W. How did you know all the ins and outs before hand?
I had helped a friend out installing his prinsu rack a few weeks ago it’s pretty much the same install.
@@RoamWithJon do you like this one better than the prinsu? Also which one is lower profile?

The punch hole tools came with the rack or you have to buy them separately? If not, where i can buy it? Thanks again
Nah it didn’t come with the rack it was like 10$ ish dollars on Amazon any leather punch in that size will do
I added a link to the exact punch I used in the description 🤙🏽
im trying to decide between uptop and prinsu, why did you decide going uptop instead of prinsu

Thank you brah 🤙🏽
I have a softopper on my bed I want to get a roof rake for kayaks any ideas 2 kayaks both 60 pounds
Up top overland makes a bed rack that goes over the softopper. I’m going to make the purchase shortly

Lmao get a Truck or a big SUV get out doors
Yeah, get one
So just to confirm i dont need to actually drill holes into the truck right?
Nope, zero drilling just poking out some holes
In the tape that covers up the holes made for the oem bars.
@@RoamWithJon got the same leather hole puncher as well u used on the vid.
