⭐⭐⭐⭐ This flim talks about Thagaalan parayari who is tribe community lived in North Arcot region of Madras presidency . They are used by British to dig up gold in KGF . In journey that tribe encounter the ARRATHI a mystical lady died in 1800 s and still resides in that area and protects the gold and protagonist ( Vikram ) told from his childhood about a mystical land and her powers and he gets flash of her in dreams . Now he tells the same story to his childrens . Atlast what happened in there expedition to find the gold that's the whole story . This movie portrays how in the name varna sharama the tribe has to treated and how British exploit them . .
Yes, even I felt the same when I watched the trailer for first time. I think its the VFX problem that is the reason for the delay in movie release (supposed to release on 26.01.24). Producer of ThangaIaan is also the producer of KANGUVA, I think production is facing buget problem for both the films. I hope VFX will be better in movie 🤞.

Movies like Aayirathil Oruvan and 24 which are great content oriented Tamil Movies are hits in Telugu belt whereas below average and flop in Tamil itself!! So maybe think before you speak about the Telugu belt!! Yes, we all are Masala lovers, we love the over the top action and dialogues etc, but we also love content oriented movies too!! Jersey, C/O Kancherlapalem, Cinemabandi, Balagam, Hi Nanna, Rangamarthanda, Nannaku Prematho etc are all content oriented hit films in Telugu, there are many more!! Even in past there were cult classics in content films like Mayabazaar, Aditya 369, Bhairava Dweepam, Anji, Deviputrudu etc etc!! Telugu Audience are the only audience in India who watches every type of film be it any genre and enjoy them like hell!! We don't know how to gatekeep entertainment like Tamils and Malayalis where they say slow burn movies and art movies are the only form of entertainment and Masala is dumb!! We watch slow burn, we watch love stories, we watch Masala, we watch fantasy, we literally watch everything and what we love the most of them all is Masala and we are proud of it!!
Maharaja collected a gross of 18 cr in Telugu which is devoid of what u said , what are the collections of Ante Sundaraniki , Hi Nanna etc in Tamil . May be these kinda films won't work in Tamil because hero doesn't look like didn't had bath for days , no slum masala , dirtiness etc .
Not sure why tamil industry fear to put money on quality, watching this trailer i feel story and acting is good but vfx ..my god ...very bad and outdated. If they fear like this they can never compete with the OG - Telugu film industry 🔥.
