I too tried to use a hand-held mirror for help to see the back of my head for the first several head shaves. Then I found the hand-held mirror was not necessary and was only an extra difficulty. Feel you head where you cannot see with your fingers, and raze the spots where you feel the hair sticking up.
Only amateurs shave at the sink. 1) Buy a shower mirror and shave in the shower after you already washed your body, softening those head whiskers. Not only safer and closer shave, but more efficient. Duh. 2) Use "The Defender" razor which allows easy rinsing between the blades. Harry's blades will slice & dice. 3) Use Dollar Shave Club face moisturizer. It leaves perfect texture. Thank me very much.

I understand that it’s a very hard process to go through mate but I can assure you that your depression about hair loss can be improved. The main way I think is through acceptance. I have a lot of videos on my channel with I think could help you brother 💪🏽
Only with the growth by itself would not work for me. Some spots don't become shaved enough with only strokes with the growth. I need across, and against, and sometimes oblique to the growth direction.
Aye man, I'd highly recommend SMP for ya. "Scalp Micro Pigmentation" You can keep your hair fairly long, and the smp would just cover the bald spot in the back

You get more nicks with the continuing resetting and cutting. I use long strokes to get fewer nicks...

Using doble edge razor is better option
Depends; but most of the time, yes. Double edge razor can give a shave of head leaving very little or no irritation.
