The Beatles chose their name as tribute to the Beat Generation.

The Beat generation was a movement that started in the fifties and was over by about 1962. The Counterculture Started about 1966 and had very little to do with the Beat poets and writers. Was driven by music and the anti-war movement. Allen Ginsberg’s “Howl” was published in 1956 and Jack Kerouac’s “On the road” in 1957. Great job of confusing the watcher, and mixing up history.

Quiet as kept.. Around 80%percent most of stuff on the TH-cam now is stuff just like this Either from some romantic young heads or some romantic old heads A lot of people just don't even really turn in to TH-cam anymore because of it.. of what you just had stated
Like Jimi Hendrix/ Bob Dylan had wrote in the song All Along the Watchtower
      - 🎶There's too much confusion🎵 I can't get no relief🎶 businessman they drink my wine🎵 Plowman man dig my Earth🎵 none will level on the line🎶 nobody under their worth🎶- ✌🏿
Later Edit- quiet as kept these two movements have not disappeared they've actually been on the side of the so-called bling bling generation but now I'm afraid after this National Election both the Beat Generation and later The Counterculture Generation blow up again around 2035 to 2043

@@alliwishis_2An absolute difference between the two, the Beats were all about Jazz. The Counterculture Rock & Roll.

Yeah that and as well as the Beat Generation were pretty much laid back especially with the jazz scene in the background And the counterculture guys they were either the laid-back psychedelic type of ppl who were into Harmony and Earth things type of rockers or they were heavy metal on edge antisocial psychological type of guys
Of course there was way more groups then these as those groups actually interchange quite a bit especially throughout the decades that came about

Correction - the counterculture was derived from the Beat generation bro.

@@alliwishis_2 DyLan was part of and influenced by the beat generation as were the hippies. They overlapped. Some of the beat generation became hippies later on. I am of the beat generation and one of the beat poets.
