  • This is a description on How to wire a speaker to 3.5mm jack.
This should work perfectly , though it may be rather quiet , you can add an amplifier in between the headphone jack and speaker to make it louder, but I obviously didn't do it :)

connected phone to audio jack from 2005-2012 and used tutorial to splice to large sony speaker... amazing audio quality when set to mono, even with my shoddy connection quality lol. 10/10

So basically- find a cord with a jack already on it, cut the wires and tape them to the speaker wires. There I just saved everyone 7 minutes and 40 seconds.
I saw all the thumbs down- but watched it anyway...and I realllly wanted to like the video- but damn near everything about it was wrong- the music, the length, you showed way too many unnecessary steps, AND you didn't even show the speaker working at the end.

This is pretty good but not necessary to separate the plastic strands from the wire because the type of wires you used in the demonstration are coated with enamel. To solve this problem and kill two birds in one stone all you need to use is a lighter. This will burn off the enamel coating on the wires as well as the plastic strands.

    • @sethh8892

Manuel Ruen or just solder the wires... a good solder iron will get rid of it or if you want to use a butane one

+Braden Leech The speaker may require more volts then what the 3.5mm jack can provide. I believe that the average on all mobile devices are 3 volts. So if you have a speaker that requires 5 watts to run, the speaker will be operating at a lower volt so the volume wont be loud. But what is great about running speakers at lower volts is that you don't blow them out as easily.
Or you can try using a higher gauge wire.

Liam Jackson if they are 8 ohms you might want to use the speakers in parallel so that it drop the ohms rating down to four... for smaller things like that you're definitely going to want to use lower ohms.

My laptop's sound chip is dead so my on-board speakers don't work and neither does the 3.5mm output. So I'm looking to buy one of those USB sound adapters, connect it to a USB port internally and wire the laptop's speakesr to a 3.5mm jack to plug into the sound adapter (stored inside the laptop).
    Will this work? :P

I have a question about a wire Jack I got, basically, there's an adapter with 2 input jacks, and and there's a wire with 2 output jacks. They're both 3.5mm, I bought the adapter from Amazon for a headset, problem is, the jacks aren't connecting. I'll put it in, then I will use all my force (I'm not that strong unfortunately) to try to connect it. Any solutions?

🤔 you do know that you can actually order a 3.5 mm open in Jack male or female and by the matching Connection in clamping on the end to make a seamless fit to whatever product you're adding it to. For instance the Google mini plug connector you can buy the matching female plug connector and attach that to the open end 3.5 mm open end wire....ijs

    hi..
thank you for the video.. I am just a beginner. I have a question please.
I have got two speakers from a friend..
May be a kind which eventually connects with a sub-woofer.
But I want to connect it to my audio interface (Focusrite 2i2). This audio interface has 2 stereo output slots for 3.5 mm jacks. I think one for right, one for left.
But these speakers have wires at the end of cable, instead of a 3.5 mm jack.
how do I connect a 3.5 mm jack to the ends of the left and right speakers with wires at the end?
or Is there any converter like that, which takes in wires, and gives out two 6.2 jacks to be connected with sound cards?
    Thank you!

All you have to do is Kinect the positive to one of the speakers and then from that speaker positive side attached it to the other one on the positive side, do the same for ground and you're done.

cuz the Signal is meant for headphones which are quiet when Not in ya ear. the speakers go a Bit louder cuz of the better Sensitivity and lower impedance. I Do not recomment doing this without an amplifier because this overloads the small amp in the source Device and it Might break. its Not Common But it happened 2 me once.

ACHILLE MR HACKER Not to just get it to work but if you need any type of "real sound" (ie more then a whisper) then you'll need amplification. A sound bar, a/v receiver or powered speakers for example

Please kill the music. It distracts immensely away from the concentration needed to better understand the video. It's definitely not needed (or reduce the audio to a trickle). The volume of what appears to be 2000W amp disbursement blew out my ear drums and now I'll probably need medical care to repair the damage to the inner ear. Again, if you're going to be using audio within the video, it is vital to understand what you wish the viewer to understand. That is what makes for a successful video - more understanding and less disturbance for the viewer is crucial.
