With both of you working full-time jobs AND the labor that goes into caring and feeding of the animals and property upkeep, it makes perfect sense have professionals come in and do a deep clean periodically. All that pet dander alone would justify it.

It’s wild how angry and aggressive people get over this. We’ve never paid ourselves a dime from the nonprofit account (which most nonprofits do pay themselves for their time) and it’s all public info!

People act like getting your nails done costs a small fortune. It's not expensive and totally worth the self care. I'm glad she does something for herself. You guys both work so hard.

That's just how people are That's why you got to learn just not to take offense and ignore it. Yeah you work 24/7 at your sanctuary of course you're allowed to pay yourself. That's what most nonprofits do Heck even with goodwill where they get a ton of stuff for free They the owner of all those makes a hefty paycheck. But if it's what you do for a living then of course you can take a paycheck and this is literally what you do for a living, you rescue. Plenty of us have rescued without ever asking for anything because of all the drama involved. I've rescued for years and never have a nonprofit and never started any of that because it's just too much crap involved. There's the strangest people everywhere and the internet lets them be loose unfortunately

Kira has watched too many horror films…a lot of animals don’t like change of appearance in their caretakers. I hope the tortoise can pass those eggs, poor girl. Sawing open the egg was interesting…definitely something I would do…curiosity might have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back! Love the sound of rain in a roof…always wanted a tin roof. No comment about the ridiculous nails comment.

Wow crazy calcified egg! Honestly even if the egg was fertile and if there was an embryo developing, there’s no way it would have been able to make it out of the shell, and would have passed away anyway.

I can't believe people are giving her shit about her nails. even if she did spend donation $ (hypothetically) on something for herself, I don't see where the problem is. they have put so much of their OWN money and time into building and running a sanctuary for these animals. a lot of might not understand when you're constantly taking excellent care of your animals, self care takes a back seat. it's not like she's out there going on shopping sprees with donation $. 🤣 unfortunately I never run into those kind of people in the comments. 😏
Wow! That thickened egg shell looks like it has the calcium carbonate content of a hardy mollusk shell! Fascinating. I really appreciate you sharing the process of investigating Pebble's calcium problem and hope she's able to pass the remaining dozen(!) without surgery. 🙏

Poor Bambi - 😘can't grow to keep up with the Emus. 😄 It's been really windy up here in Georgia for the last couple of days too! I can hear it there. Watching the part about the calcified turtle eggs - and hearing your recent comments about having the most coatis together - made me realize your channel is probably invaluable for general research regarding animal biology and behavior, by documenting these things you find and educate us about. Had a giggle at 'The rain don't stop that strut'.😄 Sorry to hear people are being dicks about how you spend your non-donation earnings, especially given how much of your own money you put into supporting the non-profit. Those turtle eggs were very interesting. Amazing how hard the egg was, but not as thick as you would think. Shippo is my favorite Fox. Hope he is getting used to his environment. He has a nice area. “Julie” it always cracks me up when Chris calls out to her lol. ❤

Another great vlog. Interesting info about the tortoise eggs. We've had chickens, ducks, cockatiels so no stranger to unfertilized eggs but never really considered tortoises or turtles because I personally did not own them, justfaily members. If they were not calcified and not fertilized do you think you could or would want to eat them?
It's smart to have someone else clean your house. It gives you guys more time work on the rescue.

Nails are like $40 and animal costs are like thousands so yeah that $40 could just be strictly for the animals but people deserve to live a little and enjoy their existence so it shouldn’t matter you spend some money on yourselves every now and then
We aren’t using donation money for my nails😂 it’s MY money. We’ve already put in over $200,000 of our OWN money.

Chris did say it doesn't stink when he took a whiff of the goo. I am guessing because there's no bacterial growth inside these eggs(?). The messy aftermath looked like it could've been from a juicy cyst pop by Dr. Pimple Popper haha!
Incubate till no debate! Put them in incubator and see if they hatch!❤❤
They're a sanctuary for rescue animals, they've said they won't hatch any eggs.
