Its unfair to just gloss over all the shortcomings and just _assume_ theyll eventually be perfect once the software gets finished. Its fine if you want to promote your friends stuff but then like... just do that. Dont add it to the ranking and give it the highest score when in its current state it clearly doesnt deserve it.
Discord Bot Maker is actually amazing. I literally have 2k hours on it, not even joking, and I've made some pretty crazy stuff with it. I use normal JS now, but DBM is actually amazing.
fr my first bot was on this. im using discord.js now, but that thing is AMAZING, even tho it was lacking some features i needed i was able to create very advanced bots
I have 6450 hours at the moment, it gets really good when using mods, to the point where I can do Google searches and even integrate artificial intelligence. Of course it's limited, and I know its limitations well, but it's still a great program.
It is not fair to give 6 points just for ability to set custom themes. The Dracula theme does not make my bot better and Discord Bot Maker and it's "actions" basically suck (I used it)

best of them all is good old javascript and python its a bit of a hassle to get started coding but it wont take you long before you become a discord dev plus no bs

It's just my perspective, if you aren't willing to put in the hard work and would rather find a cheap work-around. Besides, writing code gives you so much more freedom to do more. You're only limited to what you know.
as someone who suffered creating an rng game in discord by using botghost i can tell that its true (not joking) by coding u really have more freedom to do anything u want, but by using some stupid blocks of role condition and chance condition its actually really hard, botghost doesnt let u put decimal numbers so u gotta put a 1% chance to go to another chance condition so you can go to decimal numbers, and i really dont consider my self a developer cuz theres ppl who actually put effort on learning how to code smth and try to saying that ppl who use bot builder software are some actual developer isnt fair
this, imo, extends outside of bot making into other areas. WinForms with a form designer isn't cheating imo, you still have to write code. but WYSIWYG editors definitely do feel like cheating to me.

I can guarantee I would manage to break any of these bot making software pieces if I were to try to recreate a bot I had been working on for around 2 months, totalling about 2k lines of code in python.
I would praise DBM program if only the people behind the software aren’t so strict and rude. I once used that program to create something that is impressive but then the support for that program is lacking or worse, just unhelpful support

They're right to tell you to "just learn how to code." Coding itself is a very open and encouraged practice (except for JS, all my homies hate JS) unlike "bot studio maker" apps. More specifically, you're more limited and constrained with "bot studio maker" apps than you are with just writing the code yourself. Alongside that, learning how to code can be beneficial within itself -- you can learn how a machine operates under the hood and can further your understanding of certain elements and design choices of apps.

It's good to code, but considering the resources and time to establish your product, you gat stick with a builder. Then you can get to take note of what you'll be building when you're ready to build yours. And it's a good practice to see how others handle events and tasks. Saves you a lot of time. "Sometimes you don't need to build your library before you can learn, you just need to read fr om available ones". Just saying.
Not sure if you know, but Discord Bot Maker has mods for actions and events and extensions. Installing that gives you a lot more options.

I used dbs for about a year and a half and it was amazing made loads of clients bots. It then stoppee really getting updater and i moved.
I now use studio bot maker and love it so much
