I am an aspiring artist making Future Funk and French House style music. I am terrified to use Samples because I am scared that A. no record label will touch me if any of my music is uncleared - or B. I will wake up and my songs that I published are taken down. Whats your take?
hello, work on your ideas & demos (don't worry if you're using samples), then send your demos to labels ( you may have a better chance of getting heard from smaller dance labels), If the label likes your track, let them clear the samples & do the appropriate things to make release legal. For example that's what Disclosure just did with SHe's Gone.
Are u serious? 😂😂😂 U were born 5 minutes ago? U dont see that everyone are using samples and they still on youtube without any issue? Come on, u are joking...
definitely will be doing videos based on our sample ideas, this video was specifically based around what Thomas did back in '98 to help people understand what he did
Very cool, was just seeing videos on the Alesis compressor and watched those so wondering if the algorithm sent your video my way because of that 😂. I was surprised when you said you made “Don’t call me baby” what a jam and classic. I hope to see how you are making music now, as I’ve slowly started moving more towards sampling from synthesis because I realized I just wasn’t having fun making music and it felt like a chore and also from some other videos realizing a lot of my favorite records were heavily sample based too which I wish I knew earlier. Always thanks for making the video and look forward to seeing more

Fellow aussie, much love man great vid
Would've been better doing it with your own ideas. Its easier when you know what to sample based, specially on already hits.
