I came from 28/32mm over two years ago when I started 15mm. It's so great for all the reasons you mention. Affordability & space are my top reasons for the shift. The ease of painting doesn't hurt either!
@@johng283 Plus the quality of the scale has massively improved in recent years as well.
I much prefer smaller scales for all the reasons you mentioned. My favorite is 1/72 scale though.
I've recently descended the scales down and I really like 15mm.
What do you think about even smaller scales? I want to move from skirmish games to traditional large battles in the Pike and Shotte/Napoleonic era. I'm still undecided if 15mm is the right scale or if going smaller to 10mm or even 6mm would work better.
The smallest I've gone to is 10mm which is a pretty good size for large-scale battles. I find 6mm a little to small personally.
I want to get into 15mm because 28mm is so expensive that I can't afford it, and 15mm allows for bigger scale warfare. Do you have any 15mm games you could recommend?
It depends of which genre you wanna play, for WW2 Flames of War is a good rules set with excellent miniatures. Alternative Armies have a few good rules systems on their website.

smaller scale means less detail i dont like it.
That use to be the case years ago but modern 15mm is much, even 10mm has gotten much better in regards to detail.
