Wow. I'm still processing this information and fitting it into my own understanding, but... I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the work that you've put into this. Style wise, this is one of the better presentations on a function that I've seen. The concepts are easy to grasp, the diagrams make sense, and everything is dynamic enough without being overwhelming. Kudos!

I really enjoyed this video. There is alot of channels covering these subjects but I haven't seen anyone do it on this level..

'There are a number of different ways people use Ni; different modes' - great!
I enjoyed your notion of 'constraints', such as Fe, which is similar to how I posit the function through CPT as an 'authority' function to keep Ni-Ti cogitations in check :)
I would say I have a slightly different approach as I place Ni in constant tandem with Ti - as one is a lens and one is a codec, they will within my own approach always be working in tandem with eachother.
Still, I loved this super in-depth breakdown of various Ni guises and will definitely give this more than a single lesson to fully absorb everything!

Not sure what to think about your Ni-Ti in tandem concept. As I understand it- Ni is a perception function- much like Se in the sense that it just works automatically to give the individual insights and an understanding of high level patterns and Ti is a judgement function which requires conscious effort on the part of the user to organize information and build coherant schemas- adding and removing information that doesn't fit the overall Ni vision. While I'm sure I'm having lots of Ni insights while I'm organizing information in my head, I perceive that I also have lots of insights that I don't have the time/desire to organize so they just float there until some future time when I can attend to them. Thoughts?

@@DanielDavidAllenChannel I posit it like this - since Ni is a perceiving function it exists solely to perceive raw information without assigning a value to them. An Ni with a Ti auxiliary gazes across a mostly Ti framework, and vice versa for Fi.
In CPT a lens is always used alongside a codec - one cannot be used without the other. For as long as their is a value attached to a sensation there is a codec working alongside the lens, just as a codec cannot function without an accompanying lens function. It's a similar concept to the rational and irrational continuum posited by Jung.
It's true that internally stored information tends to have pre-assigned values, but as soon as Ni gazes upon these values additional values are attached to them relative to the context of the now. So the brain is constantly perceiving and assigning new values in tandem - thus a lens is auxiliary to a codec and vice versa.

@@CognitivePersonality Could you provide a practical example of this?

    • @CognitivePersonality
      @CognitivePersonality 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@DanielDavidAllenChannel Sure! So let's take Ne - we have someone gazing outwards across a large portion on the external world. All of this world has values attached to it already - the additional values that Ne is actively attaching will depend on the codex with which it works in tandem.
An ENTP will accordingly be assigning most real-time values across an Fe substrate (let's say 65:35 ratio of F to T) whilst the ENFP will be the reverse. On the topic the pre-existing values will be determined by Ti in the former case and Fi in the latter.
Right now I'm forming Se-Fe real-time values while, when dipping into my Ni-Ti again, I'm consulting existing Ti values while constantly reassessing and assigning new syntax at the same time.

@@CognitivePersonality So to simplify, the 1 + 3 functions are linked, and the 2 + 4 as well (percieving + judging pair).
Of which the introverted pair determines the pre-existing values, and the extroverted pair the real time values?

I like you am an INFJ. I can relate. Navigating Ni Dom presents a unique challenge. Your insightful video on Ni modes is very helpful to expeditiously navigate my Ni/Fe intuitive process. Could you make a video on Se dom modes such as the ESTP? I am considering writing a book on MBTI where I consider ESTP’s mirror INFJ’ personalities except, Se dom ESTP’s somehow, process in reverse of the INFJ

This makes perfect sense to me but I’m curious how much sense it makes to those who are not Ni dom. It seems like it could be very confusing for those with a mostly linear method of processing. I’ve tried to explain Ni to people like this and they just shrug as if to say whatever. I don’t know if it ever really gets through. I’m wondering if it only feels natural to follow these diagrams because it’s how I think organically anyway.

It was a bit confusing at the beginning, partly because it just seemed like he was explaining how *anyones* mind would work at first (if that makes sense), and because I was not used to the formatting he used. Towards the end it started to make a lot more sense especially with ni-ti loop and the forecasting and the idea as a whole came together for me. Overall a great video!
~ an infj (hope what i wrote made sense lol)

Just wow 😳, I guess I had a vague model of this analogy in my mind but the way you were able to conceptualize it in a concrete way is just amazing. Great job well done. Also I would like to point out that all those unpressed SE bubbles exist with in us buried in our subconscious and that completely freeing the well is the equivalent of enlightenment, and the way is though shadow work. This was great ! 😃

What I find interesting is that this sounds really similar to how psycholinguistics (psychology + linguistics) have figured that words and grammatical structures are stored in the brain.
It also resembles how memories are stored like a spiderweb of nodes. Whichever node in the cluster you activate, it'll activate the others in that cluster too, maybe even a neighboring cluster because if you zoom out those two neighbours will be part of another, bigger supercluster or something.
Anyway, as far as personality type goes, the working theory is that I've got a highly activated tertiary Ni.
    Interesting video. Cheers.

As soon as I saw the banana diagram I knew; this guy gets it! Learning from this video is akin to discovering the "Handbook for the recently deceased" in Beetlejuice. 👍

I identify as INFJ and this is great. I relate to this. But I was amazed with the last mode in particular because I am having a dilemma deciding which path to take these days. And the way you represented them visually (the points, the missing data points, and the outcomes) is exactly how I visualize my current dilemma in my head. That is actually how I also shared it with my friends: "That you know there are diff outcomes... And then there's the most desired outcome D. You're in A but you don't know where the B and C are. So do you walk it if it's what you really want but don't know if you'll find your way there?"
Looking forward to how you would present other modes of Ni.
