the 2nd shrapnel is bonus loot, it is MA repaying losses in lootable pvp locations, there was an entire update about that. it predates the new looting professions.
Honestly, I think the second Shrapnel is the extra percentage you get based on your Looter Skill level. That's why it is in a second stack because it is programmed seperately based on Looter Skill level.
Ceral didn’t you say to not hunt mobs if they take more than 10 bullets and your putting in like 15 to 20 bullets does it change when your getting more advanced
If you go to your options menu, you can choose an option to 'Enable Loot Window', i don't know at wich tab it is *I'm not playing at the moment*, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. If you disable your loot window you should be getting the loot drops with the prices.
im loving the new looter professions. im a lvl 16 laser hit dmg and lvl 16 paramedic. as a support fapper im also gaining skills in the looter professions even if i dont loot the mob but my team mate does which helps a lot when skilling and getting those globals/ hofs
Me again ... I noticed that there are quite a few more people around than a few years ago. What's your take on that? I was really pleased to see some places crowded! :D
Hey Cereal! Well, my again-being-a-noob opinion about this new skill set is pretty good. In a way, back in the earliest days, it used to be mostly no-loot until you reached high enough levels to loot good things. Now, the no-loot option was replaced by the shrapnel, which I find pretty good, and the new skinning etc skills are a more direct name now for the ability to loot actually valuable stuff. I think this is pretty decent of a change from MA. Of course, the total value of return won't change, but once these new skills are up and running high enough, the markup is all what will make the difference. Hehehe, in a way, pretty smart from MA (for a change): Shrapnels keep you on the hunting business for a much longer time (no need to return to TP to stack up on ammo, which I always hated so much when far out in the wild), and the new skills will make it worthwhile after you reached a certain level. But then, this is just my humble opinion about it. Good hunting there :DDD
This actually makes alot of sense, why else would they have brought the new skills + loot 2.0 into the game... It must mean something cause MA wouldn't put something useless into their game to my knowledge. I also don't get much items anymore, i remember getting weapons and armors more frequently before the update... Good theory, keep it up!
1:54 what if the smaller shrapnel stack was going to be more paint and you actualy got a bit of the non shrapnel stack bc you have some level of skill in that proffesion if it was 0 it would be just 2 shrapnel stacks so maybe now every mob has a shrapnel stack and non shrapnel stack and depending on your lvl you can get an item thats withing the ped of the non shrapnel stack and if its not maxed for the mob the rest will be shrapnel like what you got btw about the armor thing i think armor always decayed based on the amount it protected so if it was half tt it would protect for half the points and decay half as much thats for UL armor only , the minimum damage protection was the exeption for both L and UL armors but i think they changed it with the armor rework last year cant realy say anything about the time since then bc i stoped playing
what i cant figure out is if the looter skill relates to the mob or the items/mats like a mob could have few posible items and depending on your level you could get the higher lvl item or its with the mob and when you max the lvl needed for the mob you can loot everything it has , the second one seems less likely since i started with lvl 3 bc of other skills on the looter and was getting double stacks on the icarus puny mobs so it seems unlikely that they need over lvl 3-4 since they are the lowest lvl punys on caly have you tried hunting puny or low level mobs to see if you get double stacks of shrapnel for them ?
so i guess they need more than lvl 3 looter which seems a litte unfair when you consider how little skining punys give and how much you need to get a lvl i got 12 points for 15 ped hunt yesterdays and i started from 1, to get to lvl 3+ you need few hundred points bc most other skills barely affect it the new players will only loot shrapnell untill they advance a decent amount i was getting stacks of 10 ands 2 , 30 and 8, thats pec of shrapnel, which would be just enough for a rubio rifle or a b201 amp which i rememer being very happy looting when i was starting out
i think its both, skill base looting so a little more loot but it also taps into drops. hunted like a 1000 punys one day for my quest and nothing, worked elsewhere and got my looter to lvl 6 went back to hunt around 500 punys and got like 3 gun drops. now for biger mobs i mainly only get a drop when i globaled. but yeah nice video :)
I would have to say players with L guns suffer more than players with UL guns and what MA are doing is giving bonus to crafters making the guns :( at our expense.
overall they don't need to pay markup when repairing there guns and with this new loot system hardly any guns in loot, but it has been like in for 2 years now on what i hunt, longtooth young - old, ambulimax, feffoid's, atrox yound to guardian's, which is making crafting guns probably very profitable for the crafters as they set the markup and are unwilling to set it lower, in my opinion this game is doomed unless MA address this soon.
Very true! I think for a while now MA has had issues balancing the economy. Hunting has never been the best profession for profiting but markup on guns and more over 50% or less returns on runs is really killing the profession
That's true, but in general you'll have to invest a lot more PED on UL items initially. At least with L items you have more flexibility to get what you need when you need it. Plus the ability to choose weapons within your skill increase bonus.

read 2nd bulletpoint
Xanatos Xan Xerxes I thought it was just added onto the loot not a second bit of loot. I might be wrong though
no the day of this implementation the "bonus" loot (2nd pile of shrapnel) started dropping, we were all confused as hell till we figured it up
Xanatos Xan Xerxes fair enough! Guess that likely proves part of my theory wrong. Thanks for the info 😊

It def could be
Ceral didn’t you say to not hunt mobs if they take more than 10 bullets and your putting in like 15 to 20 bullets does it change when your getting more advanced
It doesn’t change but I’m willing to take a loss in eco to hunt cooler mobs.
Some good points. I hadn't looked at the definitions of the new skills.
Thanks!
Hey how do you get your loot from drops on the top left of screen with price of it.
Spaceling it’s an option in the options menu. I’m not sure exactly where it is but hit o and you’ll see it :)
If you go to your options menu, you can choose an option to 'Enable Loot Window', i don't know at wich tab it is *I'm not playing at the moment*, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

F3AR theHUNTER if you’ve got the highest looter level you probably should be the one looting. Might get a better item?
Me again ... I noticed that there are quite a few more people around than a few years ago. What's your take on that? I was really pleased to see some places crowded! :D
Idk it’s increased a bit but it’s no where near 2008 levels population density wise
is there a way to sustain ammo while hunting? cause i get less and less shrapnel..
Not really. You’ve just gotta get more and more eco. If you’re ever more eco than a huge majority of players you might in theory start seeing a profit

Fair enough. The newer you are the better this update is for you so if you’re new this is a godsend later on 😊

Good theory, keep it up!
Thanks! Glad to hear the theory fits with your experiences 😊
And like you said, maybe they made this so you can get items much more often from mobs that are around your level so this could be very possible
KingKian I think it’s to encourage skilling up more and control markup better
Then they're doing a pretty good job at that! I think we all still do want some of the crappy weapons in our loots to give that morale boost
I think the looter skills are just assigning a number to a system that's already been in the game for a long time. That's just my theory though.
When I see the shrapnel split up in my loot I always assume it's paying me back for overkill.
Could be!
@@CerealOverdrive Has no basis in facts, it's just my theory. Your idea about items and looter professions is good too.
I mostly just parrot what I hear
1:54 what if the smaller shrapnel stack was going to be more paint and you actualy got a bit of the non shrapnel stack bc you have some level of skill in that proffesion if it was 0 it would be just 2 shrapnel stacks
so maybe now every mob has a shrapnel stack and non shrapnel stack and depending on your lvl you can get an item thats withing the ped of the non shrapnel stack and if its not maxed for the mob the rest will be shrapnel like what you got
btw about the armor thing i think armor always decayed based on the amount it protected so if it was half tt it would protect for half the points and decay half as much thats for UL armor only , the minimum damage protection was the exeption for both L and UL armors but i think they changed it with the armor rework last year
cant realy say anything about the time since then bc i stoped playing
Yea, the theory sounds right. Armor wise this sounds familiar so your probably right 😊
what i cant figure out is if the looter skill relates to the mob or the items/mats
like a mob could have few posible items and depending on your level you could get the higher lvl item or its with the mob and when you max the lvl needed for the mob you can loot everything it has , the second one seems less likely since i started with lvl 3 bc of other skills on the looter and was getting double stacks on the icarus puny mobs so it seems unlikely that they need over lvl 3-4 since they are the lowest lvl punys on caly
have you tried hunting puny or low level mobs to see if you get double stacks of shrapnel for them ?
aleks iliev I think each mob requires a set looter skill and that dictates the chances of getting a gun, paint, etc. instead of shrapnel.
Also so far I haven’t noticed double stacks when hunting lower level mobs
so i guess they need more than lvl 3 looter which seems a litte unfair when you consider how little skining punys give and how much you need to get a lvl
i got 12 points for 15 ped hunt yesterdays and i started from 1, to get to lvl 3+ you need few hundred points bc most other skills barely affect it
the new players will only loot shrapnell untill they advance a decent amount
i was getting stacks of 10 ands 2 , 30 and 8, thats pec of shrapnel, which would be just enough for a rubio rifle or a b201 amp which i rememer being very happy looting when i was starting out
i think its both, skill base looting so a little more loot but it also taps into drops. hunted like a 1000 punys one day for my quest and nothing, worked elsewhere and got my looter to lvl 6 went back to hunt around 500 punys and got like 3 gun drops. now for biger mobs i mainly only get a drop when i globaled. but yeah nice video :)
oh and like a year ago when i played i got alot more gun drops on punys
Thanks! I think now gun drops go to high looter professions as ppl have had time to skill more
Feffs are mutants, watch what skills u get
Yea I never bothered to check. In my day we just had robots and everything else so I still use that dated idea
U forgot reclaiming and those to be unlocked
cambuurrinse the locked new skills?
CerealOverdrive at lvl 30 and 60
Oh gotcha. At those levels I doubt many people will be unlocking them anytime soon
CerealOverdrive i did.
I think you play more than most, or I seriously underestimate the average Entropia player
I get a lot of weapons when I kill low-level stuff they're crappy weapons but I get a lot of them so yes there is some truth to this
Glad to hear the theory holds. Thanks!
Hello!
Hey!
I would have to say players with L guns suffer more than players with UL guns and what MA are doing is giving bonus to crafters making the guns :( at our expense.
Overall or in regards to the looter profession?

is it profitable for hunters to spend 140-175% on a gun to hunt with and only get crap in loots with almost no markup, it is crazy.
Very true! I think for a while now MA has had issues balancing the economy. Hunting has never been the best profession for profiting but markup on guns and more over 50% or less returns on runs is really killing the profession
